Ugly Duckling is a catchy name for a restaurant (NOT to be mistaken as a branch of the one in London, U.K.). It is on the 5th floor of the building. Parking is not a problem at night, however can't say the same during the day. It's nice to read the menu preface by the restaurant owners sharing their concept /experience.
I expected paintings, caricatures , a pond of ducks waddling(fake ones ofcourse!) in and entertaining customers; or some sort of new age art of ducks as part of the place, but surprisingly found large black wrought iron(I assume) frogs standing at various spots playing instruments. Quite funky! There's a lounge area (low seating) with a large LCD TV close to the bar area. Currently, only beer is served. The rest of the place is mixed with interesting art work adorning its walls. There's no outdoor seating area or windows, and may create a bit of a claustrophobia for some. Lighting is dull but sort of cozy. Good choice of music - retro + new tracks.
Food is a blend of European (Savory Crepes etc.) Greek (Moussaka, Souvlaki,), Turkish and Italian. Soups, salads, appetizers and beverages like tea and coffee are on the menu.
I like the 'Make Your Own Pasta' concept, where a choice of pastas, sauces, meats, veggies and zing(eg. olives, herbs, sun-dried tomatoes) helps to customize your pasta dish.
Soups are served in innovative leaf-shaped bowls which require careful handling. Both, the Spinach Potato soup and Chicken soup were yummy, but quantity left me disappointed. A suggestion - specify that your lamb needs to be well done; else it could be a tad chewy. Ensure sufficient portions of sauces are served with your meal. The Tzatziki sauce scored over the salsa.
The gourmet style tableware (dishes, plates, platters) is refreshingly stylish, and customer service is good.
A meal for two without any beverages costs up to Rs.700. Portions of everything could be much better.
I was told a lunch buffet is also available, however, it is recommended to call and reconfirm.

The DIY BBQ is nice when you're in a big group. Feels like a team building exercise. The Sunday brunch here is good and the buffet spread pretty filling. i know of some folks who have had a Delhi belly(aka upset tummy), however, my experiences have turned out well.
Biryani has been consistent.

Poor
I agree with the previous 2 reviews on Zen. Even if money was not the criteria, and you are willing to pay, the food's pretty average.
Service is probably the only saving grace.

Good
It is called a cafe, but does not serve the usual 'cafe-esque' items, i.e. teas, coffees, pastries, croissants. The idea behind this pan Asian restaurant is to give its customers a simple, casual ambience with good Asian and Italian(pastas) food.
Ambience : No 'red' lanterns, dragons and typical 'Chinese' red-light area feel(excuse me!). Warm, yet bright lights so the food can be seen and enjoyed. There's level 1 which has an 'open kitchen', allowing customers to watch their food being cooked;soak in the flavours and have conversation with the chef. It's meant for take-outs.
Level 2 is the sit down area with wooden furniture and walls adorning black & white posters displaying several expressions.
Food : Moderately priced, eg. Momos(8per serving)=Rs.60. The Thai curries, Nasi Goreng and Satays are good.
Service : Friendly staff. Chef Rahul and Jennifer welcome you and offer help in deciding what to eat based on your 'pangs' and urges. They even educate you on some of the contents of the dishes in case they sound unfamiliar.
Music : Popular tracks which is great (no instrumental, cling-clang or elevator stuff)
Note: No liquor or pork served. Air conditioning is a work-in-progress(they are only a week old)
