yummmmmm

So good! I ordered Chicken salad and it was just the way i wanted. Usually salads have a lot of lettuce which you're forced to eat, but Theobroma's chicken salad had barely five lettuce leaves! I could enjoy my chicken pieces perfectly! the sauce was mild, not too strong or not too bland, just perfect. I could eat another plate if I had another stomach :p
Waiting to eat at Theo's again <3

Food of the Gods Indeed!

Have been a big fan of Theobroma for a while now. A perfect place to rest and rejuvenate between/after tiring shopping sessions at Bandra's Linking Road, Theobroma offers a variety of delicious sandwiches, rolls, cookies, cakes, breads and beverages. Other than the Tiramisu which is an All Time Favourite, something that I would recommend every chocoholic try is the Opium chocolate pastry and the Hot Chocolate - which also happens to be their in-house speciality! For those tired of chocolate or the non-chocoholics out there, would recommend the Fresh Cream Mixed Fruit cake for some melt-in-your-mouth goodness!

Good..but colaba is somehow better

I think its colaba branch is better somehow.I have had a millionaire brownie,a croissant and a grilled chocolate sandwich here and somehow I think that colaba branch has better taste..also the quantity seems to be shrinking day by day which is hard on a student's pocket like me! Its location is very good and it carries a good reputation..cakes are still amazing by the way!

not worth the hype...

visited this joint hearing a lot but was disappointed big time. Given the reputation chocolate based dishes are hygiene and are ought to be good.

i was disappointed by the croissants which were cold and soggy. I had to repeatedly ask them to be heated and stil they were nothing short of stale.

But the worst part was when i asked for mustard sauce. The waiter just went to the sideboard and produced a old dirty looking bottle of kasundi-- for those who dont know what kasundi is...its a strong bengali mustard sauce usually used to marinate fish and oher sea food,At theobroma the last thing i expected was such a thing and in such an unhygienic manner.

Perfect place for a sunday brunch

Went for a lazy sunday brunch. After a not so good experience a couple of months back, we were slightly apprehensive. But the minute we walked in things just kept on getting better. The staff was extremely courteous and friendly. The new floor manager Mr Sawant was there to greet every customer with a smile and smooth over any ruffled feathers, which was again a very welcome change. The butty and the eggs benny were as good as any we've ever had. Congratulations to Theobroma and the entire team for completing 10years. Keep up the good work !!!

Good options to satisfy sweet tooth

Theobroma is a patisserie/bakery located in Bandra just off Linking Road. The place opened in 2010 but quickly gained reputation as of the better places to satisfy one’s sweet tooth. Theobroma offers a delectable selection of brownies, cheesecakes, tarts, mousses, biscuits etc. They also offer snacks such as puffs, sandwiches and eggs. I have tried quite a lot of items on the menu and all have been pretty good. The ambiance is casual but tables are too close to each other for my comfort. Nevertheless, it’s a perfect place to have a quick snack, a dessert or a cup of coffee.

Rude staff, bad food !!

Went there at 8.45am for breakfast and ordered 3 servings of eggs Benedict. The eggs when they came were not runny as tbey ate supposed to be. they were more like hard boiled. The buns were stale and the holliandase sauce tasted milky !!! Each of us took a bite and decided to complai. We explained our problem to the waiter who agreed to replace the dishes. The trouble started when the dishes arrived after 30min of waiting. They had just replaced the eggs which were now slightly runny. The water from the poached eggs had pooled onto the ham. The worsted part was that we got the SAME HALF EATEN COLD BUNS AND HALF THE HASH BROWN.( anybody in doubt can check out the pics) The dish was ice cold since it had obviously been sitting on the kitchen counter since last 45 min !!!! It was simply disgusting abd nobody could it even half of it especially since the plates with half eaten buns and hams had been interchanged and nobody knew what pkate belonged to who !!! Plus we wete not given any knives or forks so eating was as it is impossible. The cutlery arrived after another 20 min and was dumped on our table with a clatter. On complainingto thr management we were very rudely told that it was all our fault since WE HAD WALKED IT SO EARLY IN THE MORNING and didn't give them time to set up their BREAKFAST JOINT WHICH CLAIMS TO OPENS AT 8AM !! I was too shocked to say anything. They didn't even bother to apologies. And when we told them that this behavior will loose them customers including us who have been regulars since past 4 years they shrugged and said NO PROBLEM !!! Needless to say we are never going back and will advise others to do the same.

Who doesn't like Theo's?

Who doesnt like Theos? They serve heavenly amazing desserts! I am in love with their Baked New York Cheesecake from the first bite! Other delicacies like The Banoffee high, tiered temptation, vodka green chilly cake, all are simply mouth-watering. I always make it a point to get a dense chocolate loaf anytime I'm nearby. Unfortunately the only black spot is the service. A bit too slow for me. The Food makes up for that wait though. I just love going there time & again. I recommend everyone to try it atleast one, for then there will be no stopping you ;)

Must try! The food and service here have always been excellent. The sandwiches and pastries are delicious and the drinks are even better. If you love bacon, you must try the Butty-Bacon Sandwich. This sandwich is loaded with bacon, fries and mayo and just can’t be missed. The smoked chicken sandwich is also heavenly. No doubts about the quality of the food here.

Very ordinary food at above avg prices

The good reviews mystify me. I've had a below average experience here across two visits.

The first time I got some bread and pastries to go. Average or just gently above average.
Trip two was today with a few friends. We went to the mezz floor and had to wave around to get attention for orders. Harissa chicken sandwich and ham and cheese sandwich (both are denoted to be Theobroma specials) + two peach iced teas.

Took them easily 15 mins to get us our food at off-peak hour time. No water in sight. Asked for water. They got out dinky paper cups and to top it, one of the waiters tipped over a full glass of water, and my friend had his expensive phone on the table. Moments of panic.

Food - The harissa sandwich was the pick of the lot, but certainly not so good that I'd travel to Theobroma and pay that money for the sandwich again. The ham and cheese was a terrible disappointment. Instead of luscious ham, they gave us what looked like a thick slab of under-fried bacon, and the cheese was some atrocious make that did the sandwich no favors.
To top it, the bread they use for the sandwich is extremely crumbly and falls apart and destroys the structure of the sandwich with a bite. Even worse if you decide to share a sandwich and use a knife to cut it.
Then they delivered the iced tea decidedly luke warm. Warm 'iced' tea? Not done. This is too basic a mistake.

Service - Water on arrival? No. On demand? After a delay. Then you spill a full glass of water. No apologies. No making up for mistake. And you charge 10% service charge (one of the highest around). I'd say that's shabby service.

Ambience - You overlook the drive out section of a building and the mezz ceiling is 5.5 ft high. Ding.

All in all, not going back anytime soon.

Drooool over bakery

Just the Best Bakery across Mumbai. All of its chocolate pastries are just not resistible. Initially thought it to be expensive but it not. It is much more worth the price delicious treat to yourself. One pastry costing on an average of Rs. 50. Have been a regular now.
Tried a cold coffee once but would not recommend it for that.
Always crowded specially after evenings.
But always oven fresh products.

Gooey Chocolate!

Theoooooobrama! Says everybody who's ever visited this amazing bakery. There is nothing out there that wouldn't please even a cynic. Brownies being their gold champions are always on a run. The millionaire brownie and walnut brownie seem to please everybody. One of their latest entrant are the mouthwatering colorful macrons! Crispy soft and creamy is the perfect mix. And the cheese chili toast is just too tantalizing, after a sweet attack they work just fine to revive one's conscious!

A lot of varieties

So after hearing a lot about this place, its pastries and cakes, finally visited it yesterday. The pricing is way too much for what they serve (quantity). No doubt that it was very good in taste, but serving size is way too less as to what they charge for.

They serve almost all kinds of pastries that are available elsewhere also. What they also serve are jams, squashes and macroons. They also serve coffees and other eatables likes sandwiches.

Had the red velvet pastry and choco chip brownie with hot chocolate and vanilla ice cream. It was delicious to the core, the brownie just melts in mouth. But was hugely disappointed on the serving size.

This place is always bustling with people, so you will always find people in there. A good place for hanging out over desserts.

Though would not want to visit because of the pricing.

Breads and Brownies

Theobroma has been a favourite bakery and cafe of mine since long. I still remember when I used to travel all the way to town to have delicious baked goodies from their Colaba outlet. Then they opened in Bandra, and the place became my regular.

Their vodka chilli cake was a rage once, and I am afraid I have had far too many slices of the same. Their brownies are really gooey and chocolaty - just how it should be.

They make a variety of amazing breads - focaccia, walnut bread, Parsi chutney bread etc., all of which are great. I specially like their lavash - crisp and buttery.

Now, over time, things have changed, and in a not so good way. The quality of food remains high but the service is extremely bad and indifferent.

So I now prefer take-aways. Just go to the shop. Pick-up 3-4 varieties of breads, a couple of varieties of brownies, maybe some cake too. Pay. Get out. Come home and indulge in the sinful deliciousness.

Purse got Stolen, Pathetic Staff

Have frequented Theo several times before this and have always felt that the staff was quite dumb and had to be explained several times before they get what i want. Also i always drink water in paper cups at this place as their Glasses stink. But this time was the worst as within 15 minutes of me having my meal i realised that my purse which i had hung on the chair (because the tables are too small) had gone missing in the outlet. I informed the waiter who ( believe it or not) laughed and said how is it possible....They said they have no control over this and showed my a sign near their billing counter which says that patrons are supposed to take care of their belongings. I dint know i was supposed to read such things and decide what to eat when i visit a reputed eatery such as Theo. After persisting with them they started showing me the CCTV footage which was perched up on the wall making it extremely difficult for me to see any thing clearly. The staff did not know how to view the footage from 6 cameras or to forward or increase the speed!! i could see the footage where i came in with the purse but after that it was very difficult to see. When i asked them for help with viewing the video they told me to complain to the police and that the police will come and check. For me i have lost all my important documents and cards and almost Rs 6000/- and of course my appetite for this place. The least they could have done was ask me for my name and number and promise to contact me if the found any thing but even after me reminding them they failed to take note of my details. I dont know why anybody should ever visit such a place anymore, where by the way i was informed by the very staff.... this is the 3rd incidence of robbery since Jan 2013!!

Good food, bad service.

Theobroma's has come a long way and they definitely know it as well.

The waiters are the worst you can ever dream of having. I may sound rude but hello, I have no choice! Not only are they unaware of the products sold, they do not know the language well, they do not know basic ettiquettes and they reason with the dumbest logic.

And coming to their ever awesome desserts. They still do taste amazing, but then, what's with the totally distorted shapes of a simple slice of pastry? It sure does look defective to me (At least visually) I definitely have the right to ask them to either discard that piece else give it at a lower rate. On asking multiple times to exchange a single slice, they bring one which is fair-enough.

The most ridiculous staff and service

I can confirm that Theobroma is the most disgusting eatery when it comes to their ridiculously slow and discourteous service.

Every visit to this place gives you and irritated experience after having to deal with their illmannered staff over the food and most certainly the service.

In my most recent andcertainlymy LAST visit to this place, i was so disgusted with their service and food that i had to leave it mid way and ask them to get the bill. I was adamant not to pay the service charge as there was no service provided which would demand a price mentiond on the bill. During this pricess i sadly had to explain to their manager that going to a restaurant is a service which he disnt quite well understand and insisted that i pay theservice charge as the complaint was with the food.

This makes me promise not to ever visit that shabby place again and help spread this word amongst others who are not aware.

Patisserie Heaven

With a bit of a weakness for pastries, Theobroma has quickly become my go-to joint for excellent cakes and pastries at prices that would make Whole Foods at home weep. And yes, dear god, they do home delivery (not to say the environment is anything less than perfectly cozy and comfortable for a cuppa and cake anytime). I highly recommend their cupcakes, date and nut cake, vegetable pastries, assortments of mousse cakes, ok, fine, pretty much any damn item you select will make you come back for more. They also have a selection of fresh breads, including loaves with olives, baguettes, etc. Staff is friendly if efficient (they always seem crowded), and I'd highly recommend this bakery to anyone looking for good patisserie in the Bandra area.

Awesome, delightful!!

They are true artists in whatever they do!!

In fact many of their pastries are not there on the menu, some of them are fresh entries.
I had this Cappuccino pastry and it was the star of the evening......yumm, delicate flavours of coffee and chocolate, an upgraded version of their tiramisu!!
There's always the Dutch Truffle and Cheesecake varieties u can dig into, but do try these new entries whenever u lay ur hands on any!

For Sandwiches, Chicken BLT, Barbecued and the one wid Eggs and Bacon can be tried out (although I dnt consume Bacon) but I cn vouch fr the quality as I hv frds and and family who hv tried it.
Chicken Mayo roll is outstanding here!!
You can wash it down wid any drink, though I always swear by the Hot- Chocolate :)
All in all, a little harsh on the pocket, but a good experience!

Sinful desserts!

The best hot chocolate ever! More noteworthy dessert would be the millionaire brownie. All the milkshakes and sandwiches are yummy and you could take your pick. The first floor offers some opportunity for a long conversation over chocolate :)
The only scope for improvement is their slow service and the seemingly uninterested staff.

This place epitomizes the age old saying straight from a girl's mouth- 'I would rather fall in chocolate than love" if you are a choco-holic, then this is the perfect place for you. I love it all the brownie/cookie shakes, the pastries, and the birthday cakes. they have a myriad of options in desserts, and the taste is just "wowwwww". the icing on the cake is the pancakes/sandwiches/coffee they serve for the non-choco-holics.

A huge disappointment!

I love the Colaba Theos, however sad to say the Bandra outlet is not even close to the standard of the one in town. The cakes are to die for, but the service is terrible. We ordered 4 English breakfasts and somehow we had 4 different waiters coming up to us to confirm the order as if we ordered something that they weren't familiar with at all including the manager. And when we tried to explain our order to the manager, she said oh i'm sorry but i'm not from the kitchen:/ She didn't seem to be bothered at all that we hadn't even been served a glass of water despite repeatedly asking all 4 waiters to get some. We waited for more than half an hour and left without any breakfast.

Go there for the desserts

Tired of shopping or just hanging out at Linking Road. Head to Theobroma for some sugar rush. Theobroma has been the queen of all dessert places in South Mumbai for a long time. The Bandra outlet just about matches up to this reputation. The staff is indifferent, but who cares when the desserts taste good? Just to set expectations - the desserts are quite conveyor belt types, nothing extraordinary. But it is still good. Don't walk in expecting something totally different, and you won't be disappointed.

Go for the tried and tested ones

The outlet at bandra is airy and a good place to hang out with friends. They have got it right with the ambience. A good place to perk up your sugar levels after some shopping
The garlicky potatoes , hash browns, akoori , frittata are good.
The hot chocolate and its spicy version are to die for. ( Total value for money)
But DO NOT make the mistake of ordering the veg.chip butty !! Described as ' our version of a sandwich with hot salted potatoes, white vinegar and butter / egg mayo' , it is just toasted burger buns stuffed with french fries!! The customers are being taken for a ride.
A little on the expensive side. Meal for two could easily set you back by at least 600 rupees.

Pathetic unconcerned management, trashy outlet !

There are about 90 off reviews on the outlets. The management has not till date decided to respond to any of the reviews . Obviously they are not interested !!! Wonder who the owners are ??, who the management team is ?? This place seems like a dhaaba with a Fancy English name !!. Wait for the news of closure .

Stick to Dessert

- Indifferent service

- Below average sandwiches

- Average dessert

We went to Theobrama for sandwiches and eggs. We knew they were primarily a dessert place, but a Time Out review had recently mentioned their sandwiches, so we figured, why not try it for food. When we got there, we were pleasantly surprised to find, on the menu, that they did not just breakfast, but "all day breakfast." And the menu quoted someone, presumably the founder, saying, "Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day." So, coming to Theobrama for breakfast seemed like a good choice.

Unfortunately, it wasn't. My friend wanted scrambled eggs with vegetables. She tried twice - unsuccessfully it turned out - to order them. The first waiter we talked to simply said they couldn't do that; and without wasting any more time talking with us, his customers, he began to walk away. We had to ask three times for the manager before we even got to speak to him. (Which was understandable - if the service from the waiter was any indication, the manager was surely too busy cleaning up the mess made by the waiters to actually have time to talk to the customers.) The manager, when we finally spoke to him, seemed to understand our request – and he said he could accommodate it.

But when the food came, it wasn’t what we’d asked for. Long story short, my friend, ultimately, couldn’t get her order of scrambled eggs with veggies. At a place which claims to serve all-day breakfast, and whose founder likes breakfast more than any other meal in the day, that seems strange.

I ordered a burger. The bun was too hard – too toasted. This at a bakery – surely one would expect that they would get their bread right, if nothing else.

We ended with dessert, which was fine, but nothing special – certainly not worth braving the Linking Road crowds on a Sunday.

undoubtedly Theobroma is the ultimate dessert stop for all those who like to indulge sinfully without any regrets.Their New York style baked cheese cake is just to die for.For a person like me who loves cheese & cake, a mix of both would be nothing better than heaven on a platter. Some of the other favorites would be the "butty chicken"...highly recommended..Do visit and see it for yourself..

Excellent desserts, slow service

The sole reason for posting this review is to rave about their 'Tiered temptation' dessert. The taste is just to die for! The cheesecake and variants of scrambled egg are also quite good.
Service is quite bad, you might not even be served water! But the desserts make you forget that totally!

dirty cup and bad service

I loce the one in Colaba but Bandra forgfet it. I was served a coffee with lipstick on it.Went back today after masny months hoping things had improved but NO. Stood at the counter waiting to be serves bearing in mind there were only 2 tables occupied at the time so eventually walked out . But met a friendand as there wasn't anywhere else went back. We ordered coffee and a cake and waited and waited, eventually the coffee came but no cake. The waiters are surly never a smile the man at the cash desk the same and one of the and the glass cases where the food is was filthy not sure when it was last cleaned. Maybe its time to sack the staff and start all over again or maybe train them in cleanliness and custoner service.

they are obviously not geared to deal with discerning customers. college students can fill up the place and the owners and management may feel they are on top of the world. Let them learn their lessons the hard way !! A lot of people have asked me to visit the one in Bandra, everytime I go there and when i see the place teeming with young college students, i back off. maybe some day i would.
this platform can actually make or break the reputation with long term repercussions. Wait and watch !!

Dear God!

This place comes with a very weighted tag line; “food of the gods”. For the most part, in decadence, the food lives up to it’s name. For years the original branch on Colaba causway, served mouth-watering and waistline-expanding sweet treats to those who dared indulge. It is a delightful little café. Naturally the suburbs celebrated when Theobroma came to bandra. This review strictly speaks of this suburban, and subordinate branch.

The christmas decorations, cool evening weather and a tiring shopping spree promted me to walk into Theobroma. I walked in feeling festive, and almost certain I would get my promised divine meal. Unfortunately Theobroma, turned off the christmas fairy lights that had lit up my day and joyous carolers suddenly went mute.

A rather ramshackle looking attempt at a ginger-bread house stood at the entrance. It looked more like an ode to the adams family. Post a little hustling we found a table for two, that had just one chair. After making puppy eyes at a fellow-diners, I was offered a spare chair. We were met my a bumbling waiter who was misinformed and didn’t quite know the menu. When I went to speak to the manager, he too bumbled, much like the waiter before him. Disgruntled, I started to see a trend.

Finally the order had been placed; a Tuscany sandwich, 2 cups of coffee and a Lemon mountain cake. Our bumbling waiter brought the cake first, so I was forced to sit there salivating and staring at a cake I wouldn’t eat; desert comes after, no? The coffees arrived 10 agonizing minutes after followed by a soggy excuse for a sandwich. I asked for an extra plate, and was offered one with stains of a previously eaten cake. It clearly had not been washed, perhaps hurriedly wiped by the aforementioned bumbling waiter and thrown before me. Oh the horror !

The lemon mountain cake was pretty good, and it’s tangy sweetness and moist insides probably stopped that festive tantrum that I was on the verge of throwing. I suppose the blog-o-sphere allows me to throw a tantrum that has more reach.

Good food, Poor Service

Visited on 1/1/2012 for a light snack+coffee. Food was very good. So was the cappuccino. There ends the favorable part of the review. The staff could not be bothered about customers entering/leaving the establishment. Almost like the wait staff and counter staff had no training or guidance of the owner's philosophy. Good food at reasonable prices is no excuse of an indifferent staff. We were not the only customers who had poor experiences this morning. Others had their orders not being passed on to the kitchen etc. Your restaurant is not doing us a favor by throwing food on our tables.

The service was bad

I had gone to theobroma recently. The service was bad. They didn't even serve us water.Even when we asked them to,they served us one glass and were searching for the other. How unlikely is that?
Also, the food was beyond horrible.I had ordered for an iced tea ,cupcake and Harissa potato.Harissa potato was horrible!it was as if someone stuffed boiled potato into bread and charged you Rs.200 for it.The iced tea was okay. The cream of the cupcake tasted like medicine, trust me!
Overall my experience was bad!

The Breakfast!

Went to Theobroma and ordered a

Chicken Butty (great original style for a burger, and awesome garlic mayo.. AWESOME!) ,

A Frittata (Well made but a lil burnt, and the toast wasnt buttered!! and the hash browns were odd, almost like pakodas) and,

Spa omellette (average)...

The service was a bit slow. The lime and miint soda was refreshing once it had enough sugar in it.

Recommed the Butty and Frittata!!

Needs to get better!!!

Had checked in at this place after hearing a lot and honestly it didnt disappoint me as it had a lot of choices to offfer including cookies, pastry , rolls, and also innovative milk shakes,
only thing here concerning is the pricing related to the Quality, I strongly feel that the quality can be better in also more options of Savoury may be added to give in more choice for savoury taste bud,
All in all pretty decent joint pretty bold concept but may need to improvise on quality or reduce rates!!!
will come back to try new ctuff soon!!!

First Impressions...

This was our first sit-down meal at Theobroma. Historically, we've ordered out (rather, "in"), and only their desserts. (We like to wine and dine to our cuisines, matching Theobroma's desserts with our cheffing.) Not only did the meal (Ham and Cheese and Chip Butty sandwiches, matched with our favourite chocolate indulgence) exceed our expectations, but, they even catered to our needs. (He likes his sandwhich with a dash of spice, I like mine hopped with herbs.) A good way, to keep us coming back...

Rude staff.

Not only is the place too junta,as compared to the one in colaba, the staff is rude. They don't respond to customers at all. We wanted a place to sit and found an empty table with no chairs. We managed the chairs somehow, but needed the portable cooler to be moved an inch or two to make space for the chair. It is another thing to politely say no and totally another to first pretend like we dont exist and then say a flat no, turn on their heels and walk off. We promptly walked off too. Who needs so much attitude from anyone. Besides, it really isn't great foodwise, anyway.

How to lose customers and alienate profits

I have been to places that dish out really horrendous service, but this place takes the cake and stuffs it into placrs it isn'nt supposed to go into.

This place writes the book on how bad service can really be.

If you have any modicum of self respect, you would not step anywhere near this place. I thought I did not really hate anything, but this place is a first. Even a day after having gone there, my unbridled loathing remains undiminished.

I would rather drink the sweat off a smelly sock than go to this place.

Awful ! Please AVOID ! Read before ordering !

Ordered a cake for my better half on the 17th of July. I told them to deliver it at night and they delivered at 10:30 AM instead ! The slip on the cake package correctly said 10:30 PM though. Obviously these guys need to learn about timing.
The cake was so sweet at the base, that I had to apologize to everyone present at the party. The manager was apologetic and said he would replace the cake the next day. When I sent the cake back, some illiterate woman who claimed to be the owner picked up saying things like, "Maine cake khaaya hai mere bhai"
If the owner talks like that, there is nothing left to say.

Reply from restaurant management

Dear Madam,
Sadly I wasn't there then, otherwise would have made people taste it myself. The cake has gone to the trash now. Anyway, I read the reviews about your place here only after this experience. My bad.
And about cakes, we have eaten them around the world and I didn't know, that by sweet you mean that you guys put a gallon of sugar.
And about the language, I respect every language, and use Hindi all the time. But talking to a customer in crude Hindi like, " Main yahi toh bol rahi hoon mere bhai", just doesn't cut it. You should mind how you talk while speaking with a customer.
Thank you.

Skip drinks, bear terrible service, enjoy desserts

What we ordered -

1 Mocha
2 Theos Frappe
1 Black Forest Pastry
2 Walnut Brownie
2 Tire Temptation
2 Ice Cream(for brownie)
1 Mushroom Mood
1 Tuscany

Total tab - Rs. 1199

This place is expensive for sure! And they levy a 10% service charge when you dine-in...for what!!! There is ZERO service!

Skip the drinks...both mocha and frappe was totally off the mark. Dont know how can some one mess with coffee...but Theobroma can and they did!

Desserts was fine...food was good..real good...but at Rs.180 bucks each, its expensive.

Main problem is bad bad bad service! Half the time was spent in finding waiters and then placing orders.

And there are many other places which serve equally good desserts at probably half the price.

If you indeed want to savor desserts, do a take-away. If you indeed want to dine-in, be prepared..very prepared for terrible service!

Super Disgusting service!

My friends & I went out for lunch to celebrate a friend's birthday and decided to skip dessert at the place we were lunching & took a much needed walk to Theobroma. After being seated and the menu cards being placed on the table, we waited for the server to show his almighty presence. Considering the heat outside, it was highly inhospitable on the part of the staff to not even serve water. We had to wait for a good 15 minutes till the server arrived & I ordered a Chocolate Shake. To my surprise the waiter replied, "The blender is broken."
Fine! Problems happen. It didn't bother me much.
I ordered Iced Tea & much to my surprise (& disgust) he said that even that couldn't be arranged for. I then asked him if there's anything cold on the menu that I can order. The cheeky moron replied, "There's cold water!"
We still chose to keep mum and ordered 'cold water', 2 walnut brownies & a Cappuccino. 25 mins passed by & we were still waiting! I don't suppose he was waiting for the rain to collect 'cold water'. And how long does it take to serve brownies on a plate? People arrived at 2 other tables & were served before us. The servers are trolls who don't respond to 'Excuse me?', 'Boss?', or even loud voices.

Highly pissed off, I went to the counter & spoke to a guy who had the badge 'MANAGER' written on it. He said he'd look into the matter. Our brownies arrived 10 minutes later and there was still no sign of the Cappuccino. By now we were all revolted by their service. Surprisingly, the waiter didn't even mention the Cappuccino once we asked for the cheque; which, predictably, took a long time again. Imagine waiting to pay for the atrocious service!

Having eaten at the original Theobroma outlet a million times, the Bandra one has seriously let me down. I've never experienced something like that at the Colaba outlet. The service is quick and prompt. But, the service at the Bandra outlet is simply appalling!

Simple & Tasty & very crowded at 6pm

Was there last evening to eat this thing that they call the butty - egg/chicken/bacon or fries. I was told that the FRIES machine was not working and hence the butty was not available.
After a good 10mins of indecision, i decided to have what's called the Kejriwal (Rs.180/-) - toasted bun topped with chilli & molten cheese & 2 fried eggs. The bun halves were fresh, toasted classically so that one could cut into with a knife. The chilli & cheese mix was juicy, cheesy & not spicy at all (some more notches on the scoville factor would really help)
The boys running the service had 3 different uniforms but i didnt quite figure as to who did what... The cafe was packed, i got my dish in 20mins, changed my glass of water once & had a pretty cheerful guy waiting over me.
All in all, a happy experience.

Having a Burrp certified frame hanging on your wall does not make you the best cafe. The service sucks. Most of the items in the snack menu section were not available. After waiting for 15 mins on the table we were not even given water. Ordered for coffee & iced tea & a few snacks. After we finish with all our eating & done with the bill then the order for the iced tea comes. THE WORST SERVICE EVER

These guys really make my blood boil. I have some advice for them " Don't claim to deliver when you don't know how to take down an order"
Firstly every time I go here, the servers are too busy or disinterested to even bring water to the table leave alone the menu. After asking every waiter separately 2 times, they finally come and ask you "bottled water or regular"- at this point the gutter water will do you know! What idiots I tell you!
Then once i order cold coffee w/o ice cream and less sugar (V SIMPLE ORDER FOR AN EDUCATED WORLD)- OH WHAT A FOREIGN concept. Almost 20 minutes after placing the oder, a waiter come to me and asks "No ocecrea ???", to which i politely relied "no". 5 minutes after this query, another waiter came and asked " no sugar?" to which i replied " less sugar- just put half do how much you usually do"- again very politely. Then 2 minutes after this another waiter comes and asked me "no ice cream" to which I lost it and all the waiters standing around thought it was funny. FIRE YOUR UNEDUCATED WAITERS!!!!! if you want your business to sustain.
What really bad is that there are only so many good bakeries in Mumbai and this is one of them. But i would much rather order from a bakery that might not be as good but offers better service and has staff who is educated with menu and manners.
I have called them on several occasions to order like today ( and how i regret!). DUDE I GET THAT YOURE DELIVER MINIMUM IS 300 because I unlike you am educated. SO After being put in wait for 10 minutes I finally get a guy on the other side and I start to place my order: i start to order the first item to which this moron rapidly replied " mamma sorry we cant deliver this our minimum is rs 300!!! I mean seriously I HADNT EVEN FINISHED ORDERING!!!!!!!
what morons seriously. the management should seriously get their act together.

Consistent!

Well I have visited the Colaba branch and I would like to mention some differences between the two:
Location and ambience
The location is a prime one what with the shop being off the linking road. There is ustle bustle since it is located in the mall but it doesnt seem congested or overcrowded like the Colaba counterpart which may be mainly due to less space. The Bandra branch boasts of a big seating space which has little flight of steps going up leading to an enclosure...The tables overlooking the road may have a little inconvenience but it is tolerable.
Food:
What I ordered was a Monte Cristo and Banoffee high.Banoffee High is a pie with toffee and banana filling topped with cream and toffee deco.It was just deliecious and it satisfied my craving for something-sweet-but-not-overtly-sweet dessert with nice taste of banana.

The Monte Cristo is a French toast which is made by coating a "pao" with egg and using ham and cheese. The sides were tomato, olive salad and french fries. It was something new and the ham and cheese combo was quite a revelation of taste.

Price:
I spent around 300 bucks for both and its no big deal cosidering that a banoffee pie is not ubiquitous.

Flop side:
The ham was too thick for my taste but fresh all the same.It did not seem from the cold storage so it was nice. The salad had some unpleasant smell and taste something akin to rotting smell.

Else everything was consistent.

stick to the desserts and you wont be disappointed

Theos as its lovingly called has some really delightful treats. The gooey brownie is delicious but you can pass on the more attractive marshmallow brownie. The hot chocolate is actually like drinking molten chocolate and a total must have. The after nine cake is superb and really does live up to its name. Im not a big fan of the sandwiches and rolls as most of them are greasy and made with this oily homemade mayo. Bottomline: stick to the desserts and you wont be disappointed. Decently priced also the staff are very agreeable but a bit slow on the uptake.

Go ahead, indulge..

I happen to love theo's. I can only attest to liking the one in Bandra as I have not been to the one in town. Personally the all-day breakfast menu is pretty tempting and the sugary and savoury treats are worth it.
Highly recommend the Intense cake (moist and technically seems difficult to get all the 5-6 layers together) and the full english is pretty good, avoid asking for hash browns though. Totally not close to the real thing, infact way too soggy. Cinnamon twist is worth a visit too as is the savoury bread pudding is yum.
So go ahead, indulge a little..

Good desserts but a very tacky place....

The desserts out here are worth a try...Its on an expensive side but the quality out here is good....
The major problem is that u feel as if u r in some fish market after visiting the place...its super crowdedand noisy...and sometimes u have to wait for a long time b4 u get a table...It could have been a better soothing experience, but the place spoils the show in the end...

Had heard a lot about this place at Bandra. I think authorities should check their back kitchen. We ordered sandwich from which big worms crawled out. According to the manager it must have fallen off the roof while getting up the steps even after we kept saying they crawled out from inside the s'wich. Before that we ordered a hot chocolate that was far from tasting like what was mentioned in the menu and just seemed like choco powdered milk. Poor poor service. people should watch before they eat.

Poor service

The food at Theobroma is without doubt excellent. A group of us tried the breakfast there and were delighted with the fare but sorely put off by the slow and careless service.

A helter-skelter style group of waiters take an age to take your order, promptly forget what's whose (our cheesecake was delivered to another table) and just generally don't seem to have a clue.

On the other hand, the food that did get to our table was scrumptious. The English breakfast was perfectly done, the pancakes fluffy with servings of clotted cream and maple syrup and don't get me started on the toast platter.

Another delight was the Eggs Florentine, superbly presented with great flavour.

So there you have it, if you look just for good food no matter how bad the service, look no further. If you crave the whole customer experience, then stay away!

Fab food Lousy lousy service

went to Theos in Bandra at 11:30 on a Sunday morning. We went upstairs and the place was occupied....about 70%. I ordered a Parsi akuri (burji). It came along with french fries and 1 slice of toast. We immediately asked for butter and pepper. They took about 5 minutes and got us mustard instead. Another reminder for the butter and a request for chocolate milkshake. Butter came another 5 minutes later. Toast was unfortunately cold by then. But I ate! Loved the food. Its was sinfully tasty. Another 2 reminders and the milk shake arrived our server went to 2 other tables to ask them whether the milkshake was theirs - while I watched. The pepper never arrived :(

All in all the food is 5/5. The service gets a zero. They are very understaffed and that affects the overall experience. Costs - pricey compared to a tea center. The Parsi akuri costs about 180 . So does a full english breakfast which comes with 2 eggs, bacon and chicken sausages. Amount is just about right for one person.

If Theo is listening - please hire more people and pay attention to the service.

What could have been...

Theobroma did a hara kiri by deciding to go commercial and expanding its base. One can understand the decision from a business point of view, but clearly they will never be able to replicate the amazingness of the Colaba outlet- one of the rare old places where not even a single item on an extensive menu suffers from any shortcoming.

When Theobroma opened in Bandra, we viewed it with raised eyebrows, as it certainly meant a shift in the philosophy behind the dreamy ol' joint where the owners themselves personally greet and treat the customers, and add personal touches to every order now and then, surprising the customers.

The outlet in Bandra falls short, and how. Having been there atleast 10 times over the past 3 months (and hence having given enough chances to myself to experience a better outing) I cannot help but give it a rating of 3 (and that too because of my love for the Theobroma name). The staff here is polite and seem meticulous, but almost every time, they have given me a wrong order- and I have seen this happen not just on my own table, even those around me.
Wait a second- let's get to the edible stuff too. Nothing can take away from anything to do with their chocolate-based foods- especially their Dense Chocolate cake and the Chocolate Chip cookies- both easily the best cake and cookies (respectively) I've personally ever had. Nothing short of 10/10.
But the drinks lack that special feeling or flourish one would expect from such a lovely menu otherwise.
The take home products- sauces/ bases etc are very very good, but clearly its past the teething time for this new outlet here and I feel they need to pull up their socks as they will be giving up on their old, loyal customer base.

I will surely only be visiting the Colaba outlet only for some time to come, after my recent experiences.

Go there for the Hot Chocolate

Their Hot Chocolate is to die for. Period! I used to have the Hot chocolate before it became famous and was personally served by Kainaaz at their little Colaba eatery. I think they were inspired by Chocolat Akrikaans served at Angelina's in Paris. Can't say much about their brownies because I am a vegetarian and most of their goodies are with eggs. One unforgivable incident that did happen when I visited their Bandra eatery was when I ordered the Chip Butty. It looked really appetizing and I asked the waiter if the Mayo was eggless(the blockheaded Moron said yes) and after I consumed it and met the sisters' mother, she told me that it was with egg. She did profusely apologize and offered me a free treat but I politely declined. I like the place and will go back for their heavenly Hot Chocolate, for all else I really can't comment :)

Dear Management,

Please note that your service is very very slow that even after being persistently asked and waited for about 30 mins the order wasn't yet there. So, we left.
I hope you read this review (since you've responded to some earlier one's) and ask your staff to buck up.
So what if I'm not a foreigner? Do you need to treat me like one in my own country?

(i always came back for brownies to this place) then even my cold coffee with ice cream was badly made. ( after 3 visits to theobroma in 3 weeks im writing this review, their standards are falling and i wonder why the inconsistency int he quality) pl make yummy brownies again. i miss them..

Mon Dieu, it's Theo! :)

I think it was lucky that after our disastrous meal at Taco Fresco, we stepped into Theobroma because it was our saving grace of sorts. The time I went there I had the Overload Brownie and yes, it was an overload of chocolate in the best form! Very yummy. Another recent time that I did go there, I had the Devil's Mousse Cake (Rs. 80) which was quite delectable as well and oozing with feel-goodness (hahaha, I think I just made up a word)! There were a lot of other great things that looked tempting like frosted cupcakes with sugar craft and Vodka Green Chilly cheesecake (you betcha! sounds amazing, don't it?) among their desserts. Among their drinks, exciting names seemed to draw us in more: Spicy Hot Chocolate and the Green Mango Granita.

Divine Cold coffee

After we got dead tired from our shopping spree on Linking Road, we stopped by Theobroma for some thanda shanda. The cold coffee in their menu seemed very tempting to our parched thirsty throats. And weren't we pleasantly surprised when it was finally served? Absolutely lip-smacking great cold coffee.

Besides cold coffee their hot chocolate is also good.

went here with my brother for lunch, i had the same experience as the previous writer sour blueberry cheesecake, four sausages cut into narrow rings with an oily sauce... and the sandwich with raw masala was too tiny to satisfy anyone... there is nothing that stands out here.. run off the mill desserts i can think of atleast 3 other places where u get great stuff and its not expensive....i guess the other places cant market like theobroma besides when i was there the owner a lady came in and started screeching on the fone and ordering raw material and discussing what the cheapest oil to cook in was annoying to say the least... so much for customer service , the waiters however were attentive atleast, they have one saving grace

Twice let down

The first time I went with my sibling was two weeks back and we ordered the Veg Mezze Platter (Strictly Average), Spicky Chilly Sausages (again average and oily) along with a Mango Smoothie (which according to my lil sis wasnt the pulp of Alphanso... which we expected for the price tag. That day was dissapointing.
Again 3 days back I decided to overcome my disappointment and headed there with the family for post dinner desserts.
We ordered a Blueberry cheesecake (the cream had gone sour and it tasted like hung curd), the NY style baked cheesecake (good) and the millionaire brownie (average).
The order took ages to come as I could clearly see the servers serving other people who walked in much after us and did so only after reminders...
Makes me think Theobroma is all hype now...
Bread Talk serves wayy better cheesecake and deserts albeit a lil expensive...

Not great for Breakfast

Have always been a huge fan of Theobroma's...love their brownies and pastries. Picked up a birthday cake for a friend - Chocolate Opium (Rs 350/half kg)...and it was absolutely sinful! Always wanted to try out their all day breakfast menu..so headed there one sunny afternoon. Called for a Masala Cheese Omelette with mushrooms ( was pretty bad!)...they served it with Hash Browns which was worse than the eggs itself!

Also called for a sunny side up omelette which was surprisingly very good. The pancakes were light and delicious. Though we had to keep asking them to get some maple syrup, ketchup etc ..these things should be served with your breakfast meal without asking..
The Brownie shake was amazing..and completed the meal.

Would I head back to this place for desserts - absolutely yes!!
For breakfast? A big NO!

Needs to catch up with Colaba

Was delighted to hear about this branch - a lot closer than chugging all the way to Colaba. Went there a few weeks back for a quick late night snack.

Sat in the upper section, and ordered for sandwiches - harissa chicken and something else. Great food. Also had a lime/ mint juice concoction - green color. Very refreshing taste - especially in summer.

Service was a bit slack - possibly bcos it was the upper section. It would be great if a food lift could be installed - patrons upstairs will then get warm food and quickly.

Couldn't satisfy a mere mortal..

Food of the Gods’, the literal translation of Theobroma, a Greek word, doesn’t necessarily mean the food has to be godly! Sadly it wasn’t. We had a couple of chicken croissants and a coffee cappuccino to go with it. The croissant wasn’t as good but then again, I never expected it to. For me, the Chicken Malai Croissant at Cheron is the best one can get for just Rs.30! It has spoiled me so much that I judge other croissants for the coveted second place while the first has been safely reserved for Cheron. However, the croissant at Theobroma was a bit spicy and had less chicken to go with it. I like my croissant to be full of stuffing and the one at Theobroma wasn’t, sadly.

The coffee isn’t anything special either. Rather go to Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf or for something cheap to Java Green and Java Expresso.

Though, I bought wheat bread from here and thought it was a really nice. Wheat Bread from Venus is my all time favourite though Theobroma does manage to satisfy this demi-god :D .

Overall though, Theobroma may serve the food of the gods but it couldn’t satisfy a mere mortal!

Overrated

I don't get the hype. There is nothing that tastes anything different, nothing that is special, nothing that stands out. It's all bland, blah. Sorry, but eggless macaroons? That's like an eggless omelette. They didn't have ganache in the macaron! And the shells were spotted and out of shape.

Then come the brownies. I was told that these were delicious. Boy was I wrong. Too sweet, too dense, too stale. Both times.

The only thing that I did like was the chocolate croissant. Nice when eaten warm. Breads were ok, too. One star each for those two.

Give this place a miss.

Service was better than food....

after reading several reviews of this place, i headed to theobroma.....easy to locate, but tough to pronounce....

neways , reached this place on a Saturday evening , n it was pack....
luckily manage to find a table...

the waiter was kind n polite, n spoke very softly, n was not in a hurry to feed us n make us goin....
he even shifted us to a better table were it was cooler...

now the food....
the menu, which u r offered is diff from what u can pick up from the baskets....
we decide to order from both the options...
we checked out the baskets n also ordered from the menu....
we dint try n coffee/ tea..

the food was OK...nothin special....but have to agree a lot of options...
a lill bit to costlier side when compared to similar places...like the candies nearby..which also has a much better ambiance.

overall njoied the food...thw service was good...the waiters took good care, n did not bother....
and frm the usual knife , which we usually use during dining, we were given a actual kitchen cutticg knife....that was very very weird...check out the pics

Brownie-liscous

I quickly walked in bought what I needed well wanted and walked out. The place is packed which was/is a good sign.

I bought some brownies, chocolate croissant and whole wheat bread. Shame on you Theobroma, your bread was nasty. I am a big bread person and this was seriously disappointing. Your brownies were yummy but if you went on wrong on that than I would suggest you close down and the choco croissant was yum but you need to work on making your breads tastier. I am still heading to colaba to get my bread fix.

Great Service

There is a small sit down section as well as the bakery. The array of pastries is exhaustive and very tempting.

Tried the strawberry tart recommended by a burrper and the eggless brownies. Never eat tarts but this was exceptionally yummy. The brownies were nice but just wish they could have been a bit more moist. They also had a sugarfree egglesss pastry but wish they increase their sugar free offerings.

Service: The manager was very helpful ensuring that everyone was being attended to. Far exceeds the standards of service needed for a bakery.

Damages: Prices slightly on the higher side but well worth it.

Food of the Gods, served by Mortals:)

Ever since Theobroma debuted in Colaba a few years ago, I have been hearing nothing but copious words of praise about everything edible they have on their shelves. Too lazy to make the trip to their Colaba branch I always joked that as all good things come to those who wait, I would wait for Theobroma to come to me. I guess a lot of suburbanites were wishing for the same too as Theo’s has finally opened shop in our midst in the happening area of Linking Road.

The heavenly goodies on offer are the incentives that make you come back for more.
So far, I’ve tried the;
Truffle Cake ( Eggless) ½ kg (Rs 300) When they say ‘truffle’ they mean truffle! This rich, gooey and divine cake had equal amounts of chocolate and cake, as compared to the dry cakes passed of as Truffle cake by other patisseries.
Coffee Caramel Mousse (Rs 75) This wedge of delicious perfection is a must have for coffee-lovers!
Millionaire Brownie (Rs 65) Their signature Brownie, I believe. Take a bite of the sinful layers that make up this brownie to find out why it’s so famous!

I also tried their Raspberry Cheesecake which tasted so good, it has replaced my all time favorite Blueberry Cheesecake as a favorite!

Everything I’ve tried here so far tastes a cut above from what other patisseries offer. I suspect they use top class ingredients which is why they seem to be priced a tad higher too.

The Service and staff are a real letdown though. The first time I went there the staff was too busy, placing a bucket under a dripping air-conditioned at the entrance, mopping the floor and yelling out instructions to each other, to attend to the customers. On my 2nd visit, though there was no dripping aircon, the staff, seemed totally clueless about the desserts on display. They take their own time to seat you, clear the table and get your order. I specified I would be having the pastry there, twice, and was handed a takeaway after being kept waiting for 15-20 minutes!

Though they are very polite, the staff does need to step up with their service and knowledge of the food on display. Since the Linking Road outlet just opened on the 31 of December 2009, maybe the issues are just teething troubles which will be sorted out soon, hopefully.

Not as good as town

I love Theos' in town - the smell hits you the minute you step inside. Linking Road Theos is a completely different affair. For one, it is a much bigger outlet than the one in town. Having that much seating definitely helps their case.

However I don't think the brownies are yet up to the mark or as good as the town outlet's. Comparisons are bound to occur but the taste of the Irish Cream Pudding whilst rich and satisfying didn't have the zing that the one in town produces.

My sister and we ordered a sandwich and here I should add- the taste is exemplary. We ordered a spicy Harissa chicken sandwich which came accompanied by fries which were perfectly crispy. The sandwich tasted fabulous and full brownie points to them.

On the negative side, the AC on the top floor was crazy. It was like sitting inside an icebox- I am told its central AC but seriously didn't feel like it.

All said and done do visit Theos. You might be disappointed slightly but the sandwiches will more than make up for it :)

Sweet Food, Bitter Service

The service at Theobroma definitely needs to buck up. I went there a coupla days back and, though the guy at the cash counter was very friendly and sweet...I found the waiters to be arrogant. I was not given a menu card for a good 10-12 minutes after I was seated. I realized the waiters paying more attention to large groups and ignoring smaller groups. So uncool. After I finally got a waiter's attention he gave me the menu and took another era to come back for the order! Thank god they left me alone with my brownie!!...which ofcourse was the saving grace. I highly recommend the Millionaire Brownie. Heated just a little bit, it melts in the mouth! The eggless brownies are also incredible! I'd go back if I knew the service has improved...

Theobroma: food of gods but not the service

I absolutely adore Theobroma. I have probably told everyone who ever goes to mumbai to to try out the chocolate overload brownies. We had gone to the theobroma linkin road outlet and had ordered the chocolate overload brownies and we were told to sit and our order would be brought to our table. But we were informed by the waiter 10 min later that that was sold out.Despite the fact that we already ordered it, the lady at the counter sold it to someone else .The waiter called his manager who was rude and didnt offer us explanation nor did he offer a equally good alternative. He just rudely said '' ok fine" .....The food at theos is great but the staff needs better training and should atleast be courteous. I would certainly not want to come go back to theos nor would i recommend the place.

Truth and Chocolate

I had heard so much about this place from friends living on the other side of town and for once the Sobo hype machine really put their money where their collective mouth is.

My problem with many places specialising in non-Indian foods is that they promise Marilyn Monroe and deliver Pamela Anderson. While Ms. Anderson has her pneumatic charms, she doesn't hold a candle to the original Blonde. Plus, we've seen everything we need to know about Pam and I'm sure Marilyn still had some tricks up her sleeve.

Theobrama is an exciting addition to the Bandra 'quick-bite' scene and really stays true to the food it offers. I'm suitably impressed.

Five star stuff

Everyone talks about the food at Theobroma - and they should. But one thing that really stands out for me in this place are the people that run it. I have been to the Bandra branch twice, and the first time I went the manager there was really nice, made sure I got my parcel on time, and took extra care. I figued that was because the place had just opened up. But when I went again a couple of weeks later, he greeted me again, and was once again very efficient. The waiters are also quite well informed, and have some good suggestions. Also the place has a really cozy feel to it. I had their signature Chip Butty and I think it must be one of the best burgers I have ever had. The bun was nice and crispy and stuffed with french fries and garlic mayo. Yummm! I am so glad they decided to move to the suburbs.

Good desserts; ambience needs work

Excellent addition to the suburbs.
A real dessert place was badly needed.
Would highly recommend the tiramisu - it is the closest it comes to the real thing in a regular bakery. And the pain au chocolat is great too.

The ambiance of the Bandra location needs improvement though. The way the tables are near the display ensures that people seated there are going to be disturbed by people browsing the displays. The place also needs some sound damping materials like curtains etc to keep the volume down. Finally, the wood and glass create a nice feel, but it's destroyed by all the white lights and the tubes - since the owner seems to be paying attention to reviews here, I hope he makes this last fix asap.

Chocolate overload brownie

Visited the bandra branch a few days back and it was a nice experience. theres plenty of place to sit and the location is excellent as well. i just had the chocolate overload brownie, but boy....it was worth every penny and more. safe to say, it was one of the best chocolate items ive had in my life. the moment i took the last bite, i said "im comin here at least once a week for this magical brownie". plz do not make the mistake of not having the chocolate overload brownie, the next time u go to theos and if u havnt had one already.

Mumbai traffic regulations prohibit trucks on the main roads between 8am and Noon; this is why our deliveries have been held up. This is still an ongoing matter and we do not have a solution for the problem but we are working on it. Please bear with us.

Could Be Better

Nice place Kainaz. Please do something about the illumination at the Brownies Display Counter. It was on 11th Jan evening when I was there with a Business friend. The portion of Vodka Chilli Gateau could be better for the price and also the flavour of the ingredients could be enhanced. The Chocolate sensation was good but why are the baked goodies tasting like as if you get them frozen, thaw and then bake them in-house? The espresso could be served a bit more warmer. We both had a double shot and felt the same. Add a bit of colour to your goodies in the display counters please. I saw a couple of Strawberry tarts and a Strawberry Cheese other than an array of Chocolate Goodies.

Best Strawberry Pie EVER

Dear Kainaz

I hadn't been to your Colaba Store ever but my friend Max had indulged me to some fresh strawberry pie on Christmas Eve made in Theobroma and all I can say is it is an absolute sin ... The Cake just Melted in my Mouth and I did not know how to respond ... they say the way to a Man's heart is through the stomach ... your Store knows how to Buldoze the way into a Highway ...

Cheers ... looking fwd to indulge at your outlet in Bandra

expensive-lovely- tasty..worth it

slightly expensive- whopping small sized brownie and medium sized pastries set me back by Rs 240.
one cant deny the unique taste and the attentive staff.
maybe an expansive menu on coffee shakes and varied sandwiches will be perfect for this spacious, well lit shop.

water please!

I agree to whatever is being said. This place offers much better seating+ warm ambiance but no regular water unlike the colaba branch. I would request the management to please arrange for it, as its really cheap to force people to buy 20 bucks Bisleri when they are ok with regular water. Thanks!

Great for the suburbs !

We visited this newly opened branch earlier this week and I fully agree with the reviewer below. Excellent products - with confused service. But it is hardly a week old - no doubt they will get their act together soon.

We tried the blueberry muffin (Rs 40 - A+), Veg Pasty (Rs 25 - good - but felt this was quite overpriced), Chocolate Overload Brownie (Rs 65 - grrrrreat!) and the NewYork Cheesecake (Rs 80 - A+).

My workplace is also in Bandra West - so no doubt will keep visiting this place regularly !!!!!

The best part of the eatery is the upper level seating.

Keep it up ! - Bandra needed this place - a great competition to the overhyped Candies.

Food Of The 'Suburban' Gods

Yes, it’s true. Bandra has its very own branch of Theobroma. Local residents can now be acquainted with its eleven varieties of brownies, its delicious bakes & cakes & the classic ambience it has been known for.
It was only the second day of its opening that we made our visit. No menu in place, the service a tad confused & uninformed albeit friendly & the fresh smells of a refurbished place. That said, Theobroma can only impress owing to its offerings.
The illusion of brick walls much like the Colaba outlet along with clear glass fortifications encompass the interiors of wooden tables with the fare on display at the ground level. A steep wooden stairwell leads to another level with a low ceiling, one that would make for a good place to catch up on some quiet reading. Alas, the place does get noisy.
Located at a junction, you cannot miss this one. Do not though expect the quaint ambience as it exhibits in Colaba, the suburb shall surely overpower the old world charm.
