Best Lebanese food

A wonderful Lebanese eatery with an old wordly charm.Very good place for non vegetarians. For connoisseurs, not really authentic Lebanese you'll find here, but its the kind of Chinese we Indians enjoy. Sharwma is awesome .They were very filling and the taste was not overburdened by the hummus. For veggies spinach delight with garlic bread is served awesome. The waiters are attentive and the food arrives quickly.

nice little place

Amazing little place with extremely nice staff serving delicious Lebanese food which I don’t know much about but this place made me love it! Went with some college friends and we had fluffy omelet, chicken grill, paneer shawarma, classic falafel, caramal custard and everything was great. We re-ordered the shawarma it was so good we could not stop eating it! Very value for money since 1 shawarma is almost like half a meal!

Amazing shawarmas

Have been here with friends many times since it is close to my college- I always order lebanese chicken roll, chicken kebab roll and caramel custard and always the service is really prompt and quick, the food is consistently good and it is so affordable for college students like me. Zeresh pulao is also good but I do not prefer it much personally, but you can try it too.

Easy on pocket,great food

Go here for shawarmas and rolls. I am sure everything else on the menu is also good,it is just that I have always visited here with friends and we end up having chichen shawarma or mutton shawarma or chicken roll and they are so tasty that we have not been able to taste anything else. It is a very small place you might miss if not looking for it specifically.Must visit.Perfect for students/ foodies/ unemployed foodies like me!

Not for you if you know your lebanese food...

For those who have tasted good lebanese or persian cuisines its really difficult to get impressed by this place. We ambled in late at night after a nice trip to the Kala ghoda festival. The ground floor was completely filled so we stepped upstairs to the Ac section . Firstly the place is cramped and is very ordinary in its set up. Legacy & tradition aside i came there to eat and found the service lacking on multiple hygiene parameters. First it took almost 4 calls to get water and too came in 2 tranches as glasses were missing. Also there werent any spoons, napkins, forks etc on the table and each had to be asked for separately.

Coming to the food , we ordered a full veg platter which had some 4-5 starters with hummus, garlic sauce and pita breads. Frankly apart from the Falafels there was hardly anything which tasted really good. Some of the mixed veggies reeked of desi masala, the hummus was very watery . The saving grace were the wonderful pita breads & the lovely garlic sauce.

Had also also ordered mint tea which was again good but not great.

Overall good place for legacy ...not that great for taste....aint coming again

Shawarmas and super good...

Lebanese: the name reminds me of amazing Shawarmas, hummus, lebanese garlic sauce and my, this place has it all.

Chicken/Mutton Shawarma: filled with cabbage, pickle, french fries, hummus, garlic sauce and tender meat portions. They have different varieties so you can try all one after the other.

Go for the authentic Irani dishes which are primarily non-vegetarian: Chello Kebab, Juje Kebab, Zeresh Pulav all perfectly made and seasoned. Tastes amazing and super filling.

They also serve sizzlers, but frankly speaking I have never eaten anything else here besides the ones mentioned above.

True Irani style and managed well and hope they will continue to serve many many patrons for a long time to come. Cheers !!

Lucious Shwarma's

Piccadilly is situated in the much famous among the shopaholics - Colaba causeway market. Me and my friends landed up here while searching a place for good food.
It has a nice ambiance with dim yellow lighting . As soon as you enter, you'll see salami, hams and chicken displayed on the counter so if you are a vegetarian , you would like sitting on the 1st floor seating area. Coming on to the food, the shwarma here is very tasty and finger licking. Chicken shwarma is the best. You can also go for hummus and pita bread and also iranian food. The food is really good! Do vvisit and relish yummy lebanese here.

Best garlic sauce

The decor is still old style with the wooden chairs and the entire menu card tucked under the table.lots of tea flavours. You can enjoy food with tea. Veg dishes also very good. Try falafal. Lebanese food. And very cosy atmosphere. Specially window seat. The garlic sauce and pickled beetroot are amazing, as well as all their other food. The portions are medium sized but the kebab platter with all the different types of kebabs and pita bread with salads and garlic sauce and hummus is good enough for two persons.

Home away from home!

Piccadilly is heaven! And their dazaz mahashi is therapeutic! A concoction of minced mutton and chicken biriyani with carefully chosen spices, it is but pure bliss! Another all-time favorite is the grilled chicken! They make very decent sizzlers as well. Cosy and comfortable, homely decor and absolutely fantastic food -- that's piccadilly for you!

lebanon

We are frequent visitors of Piccadilly and have always had a very pleasant experience. Piccadilly has a typical Irani hotel look. The food here is simply great and very reasonably priced. They have a very elaborate menu with both veg and non-veg options. Apart from their famous Lebanese and Iranian flare, they also have a few continental dishes on offer.

Wonderful Treat for the Taste Buds !!

Its AAA - Awesome Food - Amazing Service - Astonishing Ambiance
No frills place, No special seating or ambiance but amiable service and courteous treatment.
Its a place where you will find authentic and mouth watering Iranian and Lebanese Food.
There Shwarma is a must try.
I have been to this place many a times and had tried many of there recipes, there rice preparations (Stroganoff , Zareesh Pulao) are worth a praise, however will rate low to there Sizzlers, but yes only to "sizzlers".
On my last visit after stuffing my self completely the waiter insisted me to try there Caramel Custard and after trying it I actually ended up with one more..... that's the beauty of there chef......They serve the food with perfection and love.

Splendid Lebanese Fare

This old Irani cafe located at Colaba causeway is from a bygone era. Every thing here has an old world charm including the jolly waiter who is ever so helpful with suggestions. I have had the shwarmas, pita bread and chicken rolls and grilled chicken. Trust me none have let me down. Even their strawberry milkshake and cold coffee that I tried were incredible. It doesn't hurt your pocket too as its fairly reasonable. Do try if you are in the quest for authentic Arabic and Irani fare.

This place is like those period restaurants. Very Irani. Feels as if you are living in Mumbai in the 70s again. Simple straight-forward menu- each dish worth a try. Absolutely love the Shawarma, Salli Boti, Chicken sandwich. The simple fresh juices and milkshakes pair well with the dishes. Yummy place!

A Colaba Institution

The owners told me that this 40 year old iconic place was named after Piccadilly Circus ( UK) . Not sure why this was named after a circus but there is certainly no fooling around with the quality of food over here

One thing unique about Piccadily is the Photo Menu Card. It turns out to be the simplest Arabic / Lebanese / Irani food Guide.

The Shwaramas over here are sublime. They have 5 different Shwaramas. The Falafels ( which they call Falafils ) are for the vegetarians.

The Zeresh Pulao is spectacular ( Zeresh is Iranian for berries), so is the Khorma Sabji, So is Dazaz Mahashi ( Irani Biryani )

The Chicken Stroganoff Sizzler is pretty good too.

I have tried almost everything on the menu and i absolutely love this place. Its open till midnight. Next time you goto Colaba, skip the overhyped Bade Miyan and try this place instead, you wont be disappointed.

Arabic food is here!

Piccadilly is officially my haunt when I miss my Arab birthplace and crave shawarma! It’s SO good. The grilled chicken and toum are absolutely perfect. I’m not going to give points to the hummus because that’s not earned a mention. I highly recommend their pita bread rolls with this amazing chicken for a mind-blowing experience of Arabic food.

Best Lebanese

Piccadilly could easily be considered the best place for having Lebanese food in the city. Though they serve a variety of cuisines including sizzlers, sandwiches, pizzas etc., Levantine cuisine remains their strength.

The shwarma here definitely stands out. It is filling and great bang for your buck. The hummus is good with perfect flavour of garlic, though the consistency is a bit runny for my liking. The falafels are very soft and flavorful. I would suggest ordering for their cocktail platters so as to try out a range of their Lebanese offerings.

Would suggest having a small dessert at the end of the meal as their caramel custard is easily one of the best. The manager is always very helpful with suggestions and the service is quick. Highly recommended.

"Maha" doesnt mean the same.

With just one guy serving a whole floor, the service was pretty much average.

We ordered the Fila Chicken, Sahan Hommos "Maha" Shawarma (LOL), Lebanese BBQ. Mut. Kabab, The Lebanese Cocktail (platter) and lime juice.

First came truck loads of pita bread, hummus and garlic sauce. Visual happiness :)
Then came the the platter, fila chicken and mutton kebabs.

The fila chicken in simple words, is deep fried boneless chicken strips. The accompaniment of the garlic dip always makes any dish, Arabic. The chicken was cooked well and yes, will definitely order the next time.

The mutton Kebabs had just 3 sticks. They were Well cooked and moderately flavored. Them Kebabs, rolled in the pita bread with hummus and pickles were totally yumm (Self-made).

The platter had fila chicken, mutton and chicken kebabs, 1 stick shish tawouk and some boiled chicken in weird butter-chicken colored sauce. Everything but that last chicken was good. The latter had zero taste. Even the sauce was flavorless.

Aah yes, and then, the final dish that everyone was waiting for; the "Maha" Shawarma". That dish took everyone by surprise and I'm pretty sure will take you too. A small bowl of hummus with hardly around 10 strips of shredded (shawarma) chicken was all that it was. Nothing else. Absolutely NOTHING "MAHA" about it. A total disappointment.

Summing to a bill of around 1200 bucks, the portion size wasn't satisfying for the price. The taste was good.

Lovely little gem

This is what a neighbourhood dining place should be. Open windows, friendly staff, reasonable prices and food that is a little different from the usual. If you like your biryani and chicken very spicy, you could be disappointed. But if you enjoy mild and fresh flavours you'll love this place. The clear winner is the juje kabab, grilled breast of chicken that is beaten into a long strip and looks just like a snake! This is accompanied with buttered rice on which a slightly sour powder (sumac) is sprinkled - delicious. Grilled tomatoes and a few fries complete the picture. The other classic here is mutton or chicken shawarma, which comes with a little hummus, garlic dip and pita bread. The ambience is very pleasant and it's a great place to take breakfast (3-egg omelettes!) while reading the newspaper.

Lebanese Food Rocks!!

First time I went to this place, I was unsure how it would turn out. But believe me, their food is awesome(for the non-veggies).
The ambiance of this place is not at all inspiring, given that it is in Colaba. But the food makes up for it big time!
This place serves mouth watering Lebanese cuisine. For those who are not acquainted with Lebanese cuisine, It consists of a (circular bread like roti), different sauces, very tasty meats and some veggies.
The pickles they provide are also quite different and tasty. The wide array of main courses offer you a splendid choice of Lebanese cuisine. Different types of meat served in different non-so-Indian sauces make a very hearty meal!
The pricing is also quite moderate. 5 of us with a very good appetite had to pay a bill of a little above 1000 Rs.
Do try the caramel custard for dessert too.
Overall a big thumbs up for this restaurant.

Lebanese food as authentic as Khau Galli's Chinese

Marhaba! Ya habibi!
Tch tch. Get rid of that belly-dancing image in your head!
It's just an attempt to greet you.

Let me add a disclaimer here if you're absolutely fond of Lebanese and/or Persian food, or used be a loyal Piccadilly fan just like me.

Piccadilly is dying, and I don't think it'll make it through.
Ussey dava ki nahi, duaa ki zarroorat hain.

For those who don't know anything about Piccadilly yet, here's a quick peek.

It is probably much smaller than you expect but they do have an A/C section upstairs. Even today, the restaurant flaunts a typical Iranian ambiance and setting, which includes checkered table cloths, waiters shouting out orders to cooks, cashiers suffering from face paralysis, etc.

Just 3 to 5 years ago, Piccadilly used to be a popular joint amongst goraas, lukhaas and other window shoppers who caused a stampede Colaba Causeway even today. I clearly remember relishing their Shawarma while shopping for ma bling, duplicate football jerseys, bandanas and a few other things that make me repent and cherish my college life equally.

Piccadilly has been my favourite for years now. Love the Chicken Shawarma here, it is absolutely amazing!!... Even though the place has two sections, ac and non-ac, opt for the non-ac one if you wanna really enjoy the essence of the place. I went here once again on Sunday and grabbed the window side table! We placed out order and as we sat there it started pouring. In no time, our Shawarmas came and it was the most romantic experience ever. How many times have you felt that you haven’t tasted the Middle-eastern goodness of a Shawarma in Bombay? Well, you haven't been to Piccadilly’s then. It’s the next best place after the Middle East that transpires the awesome Lebanese flavor through their shawarma. Worth a check

Went for dinner last night with friends who have been here before. Thankfully, for a change I wasn't the only one disappointed in the service (my friends confirmed the deterioration). The food was excellent which is a good reason to return to try the more adventurous fare. The Lebanese Special, chicken and mutton shawarma were very tasty (though the portion was a little small for us!). The Adas Pulao was delicious though we couldn't try the mausi Biryani since the waiter screwed up the order.
Will definitely return for the food but with lower expectations on service.

Only place in Mumbai dishing out authentic persian fare! Not to be confused with irani food found in parsi joints. The Chelo Kebab is nicely done, though might not appeal to Indian palate who prefer spicy and overcooked food. The Shawarmas are to die for and the mixed platter is good. Slightly on the expensive side but service is good. After visiting the joint a couple of times, the waiters recognise us.
