Amazing Place..

Not much needed to be told about a place so well known and visited. So would just add to other reviews.
Food as usual is amazing. I also like their quantity ( which somehow acts as justification for its prices :P)
Music... well lets just say, it sets your mood for the evening. Irrespective of the mood you go, it is bound to make you hum, dance, tap and sing along at least some of the numbers.
Service- Again excellent. All in all a MUST visit place

Rocking place to be

Well, it is a costlier place but then, who cares if it's Hard Rock Cafe.
Everything from the food to the music to the ambiance to the tables - Everything is simply Rocking! Had been here to celebrate my boss's birthday and was a surprise. Well, it turned out to be a rocking surprise. The nachos are awesome. Mouth watering!
For a miser like me, the best I can do to keep the bill low is go for a drink or two with some food and spend time there. I would not always indulge in hogging when it comes to HRC. But it is definitely a place one must visit at least once (probably with your loved one).

Mecca of Rock Music in the City!

Hard Rock Cafe is a part of a global chain of restaurants & hotels by the same name. Its the ideal start to an evening of "showing off" of Mumbai for out of towners who want to experience Mumbai in a night!
The music and ambiance are the best things about this place and so are the live performances. It gets really crowded on Friday & Saturday nights so its best to visit early if you want place to sit.
The Nachos are excellent and if you are in a group of 4 or more just order the veg platter which gives a taste of all the fried starters.
For main course, try their mac & Cheese and burgers. They also serve a good fajita on a sizzling tray.
The best items on their menu are the cocktails. Made potent, in large sizes and served chilled they are priced high but well worth the money. If you want to drink loads and spend a lot of time, its best to go for beers.
The staff is great, interactive and they dance to the YMCA once every night.

HRC Rocks!

This place really rocks. While the food is good, most people are here just for the HRC feel and ambience. While the price for most food items is steep, I would encourage everyone to visit the place at least once. Staff is helpful, but usually the place has such a rush (especially on weekends) that you may have to wait to land a place and / or land your order. Better to visit the place when a live band is playing -- at that time, the place just comes alive and the energy and overall ambience is just awesome. Must try, at least once!!!

The best place to party

I visited Hard Rock Cafe recently, after a gap of at least a couple of years, for a party. The place was vibrant and colorful as always.

We had the mezzanine floor to ourselves. The band was playing on the side. A nice, well stocked bar was set up. Overall, it was perfect setting for a great party.

Our bartender was a gem. He kept mixing great drinks and surprising us. As I was feeling tired after a long day at work, started with a mojito. The mojito was really well made, with both the mint and lime perfectly balanced with the alcohol.

The spring rolls were warm and crisp with a tasty filling. It was different from the regular Chinese style spring rolls in a better way. The kathi rolls had good filling with Indian flavored fillings and the wrap was well baked. There was a variety of other starters available, all of which looked decent and were equally enjoyed by the group.

Decided to have some Long Island Iced Tea, which was again executed with perfection by the bartender. It was strong, as desired, but the alcohol was not too overpowering.

I asked the bartender to make me something of his choice, and he surprised me with a vodka based cocktail with a medley of juices including cranberry. Though similar in construct to a Cosmo, it was different and well flavored.

Had Thai curry and rice for the mains which was decent, though I prefer my Thai curry with more coconut flavor. The dessert was basic chocolate brownie. Frankly, the mains were just a formality after the drinks and starters. The music, as always, was great.

Hard Rock Cafe does not need any reviews or endorsements whatsoever. It is a cool place with great music, fabulous food and drinks and amazing people willing to serve you with a smile.

HRC Rocks!

The ambience, the staff and the food.. All make this a super location to hang out, chill and be merry. One of my personal fri/sat night dine hangouts..rock music, dancing waiters, everybody laughing and free spirited around..lots of good food and drinks.
The setting is ideal..and there are multiple variations to choose as to where to sit...the ground, the corner, the mezza9, etc.
They host really good kid birthday parties as well!

Nice place

They play good music & some of the memorabilia they have on display is priceless.

The Hungarian goulash here is the best I've ever had.

A fully stocked bar but strangely they don't have many beers on tap (only 1). The staff is fantastic, very friendly & polite. Shout out to Ernest, the teetotaler manager who was kind enough to give me a personal tour of the place.

I personally prefer going here before 7PM as after that it starts to get too lively for my taste. On weekends the place is crowded & there are just too many peasants who don't even appreciate the music. It isn't as bad on weekday nights though and a great place to meet interesting people @ the bar.

Music Haven

I never like to sit at a table when I visit HRC - I always want to be at the bar. The barmen are awesome. Your drink is constantly replenished.
Attention to drink you are is always 100 %
They never ask you "oh what you drinking"
I love the music at HRC, the live bands are an additional bonus for me coz I'm a music buff. Also, must say these guys have stuck to the HRC Standards when it comes to ambiance - and not gone off in some random direction.
Good place to visit for all the music lovers!

Rock on HRC!

There isn't a better place in this city! Be it the music, the food, the alcohol or the service! Just absolutely perfect! I love the electric iced tea, the YMCA dance (which I have joined in myself at times), the fact that I have memories on the steps of the particular HRC at Worli, and be it by myself, with friends or with colleagues from work, HRC is the go to place any time of the day! (HRC Loyalist for life) - Oh also the 10oz burger with bacon, onion rings and cheese, the mac and cheese - these are my foods from heaven!

economical

Apart from the music that rocks, in many ways this restaurant does too. I could pardon them for their desi twist - a slab of paneer over Mac and Cheese.

Usual watering holes do not focus enough on the food but HRC does not disappoint generally speaking. The size of their helpings was very good making the food generally a good value proposition.

What they could definitely do is try and make parking complimentary instead of charging Rs. 60 like a bunch of cheapskates

Disappointed with the food

Ive eaten at several hard rock cafes abroad and have always loved the burgers. We were craving a good old beef burger and decided to spend a sunday afternoon with friends at the HRC. We'venever been so disappointed with the food at any restaurant. The famous nachos with cheese was a huge disappointment, the cheese was inadequate and dry. The beef burgers were not cooked well enough and we thought it was only our food, till we saw the next table return half their burgers after 1 bite.

The burgers at indigo deli are yet the ones to beat. For the beef burgers, try the one at trader Vic's Mai tai lounge.

There is a good choice for the vegetarians too. I preferred a set menu ..chicken grill sandwich which had the soup, chicken grill sandwich ( a huge burger) and icecream and choice of soft drink.. Really filling and great taste..

Take a look and Go somewhere else instead!

Well... to begin with I visited Hard Rock Cafe on a weekday, in the afternoon just to grab a couple of drinks to catchup with a friend for a few hours before her flight and I found the overall experience quite subpar as per Hard Rock Cafe standards.

I have been to a couple of Hard Rock cafes around the world, in the US and Asia and I have to say that I really enjoyed the space layout in this one, as it had high ceilings, rock memorabilia, different seating areas, and a relatively fun staff; however, that doesn't justify losing out on food and drinks, and some essence of the Hard Rock experience.

Well, we chose to sit closer to the bar which I feel was a good idea as we could enjoy the big space specially considering Bombay...lol. so nyway I wanted a draft beer but they didnt seem to have any, and this is a really big turn off for a hard rock cafe as I feel the essence of a good restaurant bar is definitely draft beer, nyway I settled with a bottled one and my friend ordered a Cosmo. Now, a cosmo aka Cosmopolitan is made with Cranberry juice, vodka, triple sec, and lime juice...so I believe that the dominant flavor should be cranberry but the drink tasted like cough syrup literally... and I believe that its really hard to mess up a cosmo... lol

We werent really hungry so we decided to order a cold Arabic Mezzah to accompany the drinks; an appetizer tray consisting of, hummus, baba ganouch, labaneh, tabouleh, pickled vegetables, and pita bread. I have had pretty bad mezzah platters in the past and this was definitely one of the bad ones, mostly because nothing about it was right. The pita bread were like those grocery kulchas u find in plastic packets, and the tabouleh, hummus and baba ganouch were bland they lacked tahina and lime juice. The only acceptable thing was the labaneh which is really quite impossible to mess up as it is just sour cream.

Finally, the service was good as the staff was quite attentive but I didn't feel the Hard Rock experience in their attitude. Also the retail shop selling hard rock memorabilia just looked painfully out of place and more of an afterthought, which is unlike Hard Rock cafes worldwide.

I was quite disappointed with the food and drinks as just the environment alone doesn't cut it. Not a true Hard Rock Cafe!

Good place to chill out.

Location is pretty good. Easy access and spacious entrance and internal roads..which is very good when you are getting in by car.

The high ceiling present here strikes you as soon as you enter the cafe.

The interiors are done up really well and give it a distinct look which is different from most cafes.

Live band performances are pretty common here and the beer flows.

The food is okay but you come here for a performance and the atmosphere. The bartenders are helpful and the other staff is also good.

All in all a good place to chill out.

Good music,ambience and drinks

The Ambiance is too good with a setup which would set anybody up for a rocking night. Be it the general layout, the displays of various accessories of Musicians, the dancing staff, everything is good about the place. Music is too loud but I felt it is ok since they played all good numbers.
The beer, the margaritas are my staple when it comes to drinks.I love the menu and especially Veggie Platter and almost all the deserts.

Great Ambience

This is the only Hard Rock Cafe Outlet, I have been to till date. The first thing that came to my mind as soon as I entered the place was "Wow..Superb Ambience". The place too is quiet big with different sections up & down. As we had our dinner already before going here we didnt order food here. We had a few drinks. But the best thing we ordered was a big scoop of Ice Cream (dont remember what they actually call it). But it was like a Family Pack Ice-Cream we had ordered with Jelly toppings. We had fun having it together.

All Beef And Music

Hard Rock Cafe

Being one of the obvious places where people who are inclined to non-electronic music must visit, the place is definitely a place to be. Though at times the resident DJ ggofs up with his playlist including weirdly of-the-flow tracks, he doesn't do a bad job either. Music varies, right from the classic rocks to the Elvis to the RATMs and to the more commercial bands like Linkin Park etc. Thursday nights are definitely an ideal time to visit the place considering the local acts performing on stage, live. They don't have the greatest audio equipment's, but that will do. The stage is located such that one would definitely sprain a neck after a night.

Food:
The legendary 10 oz all beef and bacon, the beef nachos, the veg platter and the grill platter are what your eye's must feast on.
The burger is huge, made the way you want and heavy! Definitely a good meal.
The nachos serve more than two people with a generous amount of beef as well.
The veg platter (Oh yes, i did say veg) is good value for money and is quite satisfying for the variety and the number of people getting to munch on it.
The grill sausages platter is again, a good choice, fills up and satisfies many. Cannot see a reason why 1 would complain.

The Veg grill platter is what 1 should not have. Total waste of money and pretty much a negative on the tastebuds.

On getting to HRC, one must not complain about the price. A place of this stature and class, deserves to be highly priced.

Mojito Festival

Hard Rock has a Mojito festival going on in conjunction with Bacardi from 13th May to 9th June. A bunch of us went for the preview of that.

Food: We ordered the Santa Fe spring roll which was served with salsa. Everyone on the table loved it so much we landed up ordering it three times. A Mexican twist on your regular spring roll it was stuffed with corn, beans and cheese. The assorted hummus platter has three dips, black bean, chickpeas and your regular hummus. First time I've had black bean hummus and the bowl was wiped clean in a matter of minutes. The balsamic bruschetta was interesting version with a tangy taste to it.

Drinks: So the focus was on the drinks, Mojitos with fresh fruit/vegetable as the case maybe. Unfortunately they didn't have green apple and grape due to the LBT but tried all the others. Extremely well mixed with the perfect balance of lemon, mint and the flavor, they were probably the best Mojitos I've had.

The cucumber and bell pepper were the most unique flavors, ones you'd least expect in a cocktail and yet worked so well. Cucumber was super fresh and bell pepper had a slight bite. Kiwi was divine with a bit too much fruit though. Watermelon and strawberry were a bit sweet and probably appeal more to women. Orange and mango were average and can be avoided.

Damages: Rs 350 for a Mojito and Rs 650 for a drink + appetizer.

Overall an extremely satisfying experience with good food and even better drinks. Loved the Mojitos and hope they do such events more often especially at such a great pricing.

Its awesome fun to watch them get up and dance to YMCA, one cannot just get bored! Once was there for the Alexandra Stan concert and that rocked. Also was there for a 31st party and had so much fun. Their burgers, starters, Mojitos and Long Island Iced teas are too good.

Shocked & Cheated

We've been visiting HRC for over 4 years now, not just in Mumbai but in Singapore, KL & Pattaya. So after all the wonderful times over past few years the service last night has been shocking to say the least. The drinks, food & music was great as always but want to highlight the reasons which have prompted this review.

1. Our server was very friendly & when he offered to make my husband's drink extra special by making it a supreme we had no reason to expect that that would involve doubling the cost of an LIIT from Rs 474 to Rs 948. The least he could have done was to alert us us the new " Special" drink will cost over a Rs 1000 bucks post taxes!!! And we been given special drinks in Singapore in the past without the special costs!

2. Once we asked for the bill, there was also a charge for an "Imagine Bracelet". Since we hadn't ordered one & when I asked the server what this for, he asked for a moment to confirm what this was about and turned around after walking bout 5 feet and said actually it was for charity HRC was supporting. I am all for charitable causes but as a responsible establishment where your patrons trust you, I would expect HRC to be transparent & upfront about something like this. It wouldn't take much for them to just inform before generating a bill & asking whether one would like to support this instead of imposing it on the customers.

3. Once my card had been swiped for the bill payment, I got an alert from the bank. However less than a minute later I received a second alert for the amount being debited. We spoke to the manager called Ralph who assured that was probably a technical issue & he would check & revert later in the night if the amount had indeed been charged twice. Its been over 12 hours & am still waiting to hear from them.

Its quite interesting that an impression built up over the years can be lost in one evening.

Hard Rocking !!

Went here last Sunday, went there after a long time. Almost after a year, we were 3 friends and as it was a Sunday evening we decided to go at HRC. This place truely rocks ,,/ ,,/ we were welcomed with greeting and a smile :) If you are an hard core rock lover then this is the place for you, some beer and rock music will make you evening exciting and worth your money spent. The ambiance is jst so awesome and the lights as well. Me and one of my friend ordered Kingfisher draughts, we had 3 draughts ech which goes to 1380 inc tax, other friend ordered a mocktail as he dnt drink it wz sumthng related to mango flavour he had 2 of the same which was very resonable at 350 each inc taxes. We also ordered a jumbo meal pack which was suggested by a person from a staff whch was at a decent price of 700. We didnt went for cocktails, the music was simply rocking, the DJ was humble enuf to play the songs requested by us P.S- Dont expect the DJ to play Sexy Bitch, strickly rock songs :) The cherry on the cake was IPL match, more den the players the guests in the cafe were screaming wen the camera was focused on SRK n dats bt obvious. More on More its jst an awesome plce. Five Stars to this cafe. Will definately visit next week and also suggest to my friends.. Cheers..!

Zzzzzz

If there's no good band playing, it's terrible. Too crowded, loud, slow bartenders... and rather uncourteous staff during weekends.

Not the best example of Mumbai nightlife - especially on a Saturday night.

Totally Rocked It Hard!!! m/

It was my 3rd time here at Hard Rock Cafe, a second Saturday night on 12th May, and it just couldn't get any better, man! The ambiance is just too good. The Guitars of The Gods placed strategically on the walls, few outfits of The Gods and the perfect lights. It was the first time I got the table, the other previous 2 times I was standing at the bar-side waiting to get one (which I unluckily did not get till the end!). My 2 friends and I had been here this time, and all of us enjoyed like hell! To attend us, there was Joseph, who was very very friendly. In all we had 9 drinks (3 drinks each) and approximately 4 different dishes. All of it was really awesome! The best part was that at around 9.45pm, these steward guys stood up on high tables placed in the middle and danced to the YMCA number where everyone was enjoying sooo much!!! I would recommend anybody to go on a Saturday evening at this place to enjoy in totality... Plus, there is a decently large screen atop the place where a band performs live on which the IPL match was telecasted that day. More over, the DJ was amazing! He played some really groovy and fantabulous numbers... There is also a small area allocated to selling some cool casual tees for guys and girls. Having said much, our bill was 7 grands!! Now this was little too much... But to put it in a Mumbaiyya lingo, 'paisa vasool tha yaar!' All in all, one of the best experiences to have in Mumbai! It makes me feel visit one more time!!!

Drinks could be better

I was pleasantly suprised to find the place not v crowded on a sunday night. The last time i visited HRC, there was barely a place to stand and the table wait was close to an hour.
This time around we got a table for 6 fairly quickly. The music and the ambiance both are excellent. Everything around and offered in terms of food and servings, exaclty match to the patterns of the HRC's in the US.
The only disappoint was the drinks - the mojito ordered wasnt too great and the cosmo was quite weak on alcohol. I wish they had greater variety in cocktails and did a better job mixing them.
However, the food makes it up for this deficiency. We ordered the veg & non veg platters and there wasnt a single thing on the platter which i didnt like. From onion rings to thier spring rolls and its nachos..all was terrific. Chicken wings & tenders espcially were excellent. Full marks to this joint for the food.
Damage for 6 with drinks - 3800.

Rocking place!!!!

The moment you enter the place...you fall in love with it....
great ambience....different seating levels....
First time i went on saturday evening.....place was crowded....great music...rocking party...people were standing and there was almost an hour wait for the tables....i loved that kind of atmosphere...
had normal vodka..it was good

Next time went on sunday evening...it was a laid back night....we got tables easily....slow music playing....so this was the time we could try on food...we ordered jumbo combo and i liked the food....
i ordered vodka with mint and lime (forgot the name of the drink)....but i think the proportion was bad...it had too much of lime n less mint...thou the mint should have been a bit stonger...

just there was water dripping from ceiling above....they should do something about that...

the waiters were friendly and having fun....
a must go especially on saturday nights....
and when there is live music....this place just beats any other place...

Worth it!

Visited hrc on Sunday evening.. Went there early and had reserved a table for 7:30... We are welcomed and seated in the cafe section on the sofas... My 3 year old son was given the kids menu and crayons to draw and he was occupied till we could order...
Spoke to the chef and was assured that the chicken and beef they use is halal.. Their chicken comes from godrej which is common for most restaurants in Mumbai..
Order for half nachos for starters.. And tender chicken strips for my son from the kids menu... Both fantastic...

Legendary 10 oz burger for main course... Without the bacon as we are Muslims.. It was very good but I would not have not minded it to be a little less cooked and juicy..

Milk shakes (choco and strawberry) were normal... Nothing really out of the world..
Although the double berry cooler was.. Just great...

For dessert had the brownie sundae... Pretty good.. Hugh size.. 2 of us could barely finish it.. Needed some more choco sauce..

All in all a great experience.. Serving portions are similar to what one finds in America and much larger than Indian standered.. service at par to a five star hotel and better than restaurants that charge more... Music ooh the music... Great songs one after another sound fantastic coz of the superior music system and acoustics of the huge place... Worth every paisa spent.. Hrc u have earned one more regular customer!

HRC Rules....

The place was on my list for a long time n happy I could make it thr with some frnds frm work.
The first impression after entering thru the cafe's huge door is like WOWW!! .... The place is huge with ample seating area (Which is not enough after 9:30 pm :) )...n the ambiance is just gr8. The decor is mind boggling with all the music instruments on the walls. There is a huge chandelier made out of saxophones which will surely catch ur eye... The music played is complete Rock n u shld be a fan of it to enjoy it....The drinks are good with a lot of Cocktails (could have been more tough)...Food..well u need to try the Herb Chicken and the Nachos...The guy will suggest u for some Veg platter...plz plz do not get into it...The place kind off becomes overcrowded after 9 pm n it really becomes difficult to get a place on weekends. The was some YMCA dance during the night @ 10.30....frankly i found it lame....they could have done better...
Overall a real good place to hang out with friends if u dont mind a pinch to ur wallet !

Live the live.

Hard Rock cafe is a place which needs no explaining. It is probably the most well-known chains among those who especially love their food and their music.

As we reached the end of our graduation, we decided to go to a place which would appropriately commemorate this occasion. We took a Cab from King Circle to Lower Parel. We got off at Phoenix Mills. It cost us around Rs 70 We asked our way through to HRC, which was pretty far from where we got off( took about 15 mins of asking and searching.) Finally we made it.

As we entered, we were made to pay cover-charges worth Rs 150. This was mostly because it had a live-band performing that night. And to my surprise it was 'One Night Stand', which is pretty famous in the Indian rock scene. As we entered, I almost felt overwhelmed. The ambiance was just about perfect. Being a music-buff, I found myself over cloud 9.

We slouched into one of the tables. At first we ordered for starter- Hard Rock Nachos and Potato Skins. This was pretty good and quite sumptuous in itself for some. We then ordered some drinks. We ordered Long islands and Mojitos, all of which were great.

Next we ordered for the main course. As we were almost full already, we decided to share a burger amongst ourselves. I had to go for the obvious choice- The Legendary 10-oz burger. My friends bought S.O.B. Burger and HRC Veggie Burger. By the end, it was almost a struggle, especially for girls, as it was pretty heavy. Meanwhile, a waiter who was slumbering around with tequila shots came and stood at our counter. He was able to convince us into trying it out for the sake of graduation- and we did. Although it wasn't splendid, this sure did a lot in burning a hole through our pockets ( at Rs 300 per person per shot).

All through, the live performance just made it all the more pleasurable as we swilled away to the tunes of Metallica, Pearl Jam , Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden.

After our meals, we just walked around the stores which had memorabilia for many great artists including the Police, The Doors, Pearl Jam, Steve Vai and even Madonna.

Although the bill was around Rs 1600 per person (including cover), for once we din't mind as it was about the memories. However, otherwise, this would be way too expensive. However, worth a visit atleast once.

As American as it can get

This is the closest to American style food I have found in India. Having gone through most watering/dinner lounges such as tgif, ruby tuesday, and the American branded hotels I would say the bar food and meals that are from the american influance is no different then going to a HR in Chicago, NY, or LA. The only downfall of this venue is that it is cworded with post teenie boppers living off of mommy and daddy's money. Other then that it is a great place to eat and I highly encourage you to get yourself in the VIP section as it is the only "kool" place to sit.
If you are looking for a night out in town both for food and beverage, make HR a stop.

Have been to better HRC's

HRC was extremely jam packed n way too loud when we got there.. Had to shout to the person next to me to be heard at all!

The food was so-so. NOt too bad i guess, but definitely would have expected more from HRC, so left a little disappointed.

Service was good though. The staff and waiters were very amicable.. and the interior was just classic as always! Definitely had the feel of many other HRC's around the world!

For Music Lovers Only

I must be one of the few people who always enjoys the dining experience at HRC because if nothing else, it consistently serves food that is bland , boring and synthetic. The limited menu makes it easier to choose from - and of course we had a dumb waiter to advise us : Yes, the paneer wrap is made with lettuce, mint sauce and succulent ( I'm sure we heard that one) paneer wrapped in Roomali Roti. Of course it came out looking nothing like that! The wrap was chopped into bits and served like Sushi Rolls with the outer covering hard and crispy and the predominant taste being chilli hot tomato. As for the paneer - keep looking.

For starters, we had the famed potato skins which were over fried adn therefore hard ,not the melt in your mouth ones that we were expecting and had eaten several times' before. Perhaps it had something to do with the potatoes. The grilled Sirloin Steaks were also well done though we had specified medium rare. Perhaps the chef is scared of clients drawing blood.

As for our dumb waiter , when I asked if a lunch buffet was available he told me I would have to make it out with the manager ! I couldn't figure that one.

But overall, the music is always great as is the atmosphere which is pulsating with young people and old people who want to be young and generally just have a great time.

So I would go to HRC only for the music....the songs they're singing and the joy they're bringing. Which is what they did. As each familiar song was belted out, I could feel my smile grow wider, my hips jiggle on the seat and the table wobble with the beat.

I love HARD ROCK CAFE and will go back for more.

Good for eve, not for lunch...

Good place, great ambience & good music.

Love the Nachos here, with beans ofcourse. The burgers are also too good. Sandwiches are also worth ordering.

However, if you're going here for lunch, you won't come out satisfied. Their service at lunch hours is extremely poor inspite of less crowd. Also, nachos & burgers or sandwiches arent something you might want to have for a good lunch. Their pastas are one of the worst pastas I have ever had. We actually had 3 huge bags full of food that we got packed for street kids after our lunch - ya, it was so bad!

If you're going in eve, they have got a decent variety of cocktails, some of which are really good.

A good hangout....

Excellent Place

Having been to HRC in the USA, I surely wanted to do this for a long while now. The perfect opportunity came up and me with 3 others were there last night. The ambience was excellent with high ceilings, layered flooring and good amount of memorabilia in place. The food was what you would expect at an HRC plus local favorites added in for good measure in the menu. The music was good with GNR, Linkin Park, Lifehouse and other good bands on play. Didnt have too much issues getting in as we were there just before 9PM. the crowd builds up quickly post 9PM though. So plan ahead for some waiting.

The prices were ok and not too high. We had an assorted starter platter, some drinks and entrees. Overall great place and would surely come again.

Once a fortnight - prescription for all those music lovers. Great music is fine, but you once in a while need a place where everything is about great music with just the right ambiance! The soft rock, grunge is all worth an evening at the HRC. The cavernous feel of th place is nice when the people count is at the lowest.
Apart from the great food and beverages, the staff is very friendly and makes you feel at home. I love the menu and especially the grilled fish and almost all the deserts.
The staff does a very impressive Chiggy-Wiggy - and its worth waiting for , even if its getting on late into the evening.

Feels like you're in the USA!

Been there on an early Sunday evening...
Plus Points: Good food, service and ambience. Went with my teenage daughter, and the look on her face was worth a million bucks!

Minus Points: Very high prices - even parking is 50 bucks. Park outside and walk in is my suggestions. Draught beer tap was not working (imagine that!) Indian beers were not served too chilled and were completely overpriced. The imported beers, mysteriously, were chilled to perfection. Do I smell a ploy?

If the wallet allows, a great place to go every now and then, but nothing to visit regularly.
The loo was a mess. No water.Taps were dry.

HRC Rocks your Evenings !!

We had been to HRC on Wedenesday last week when Luke Kenny & One Night Stand - the band performed LIVE !!

I have kinda fallen in love with this place. I had booked a table for five of us a day in advance and the mgmt was quite hospitable to call and confirm the booking. When we first went in, we were welcomed by a female host who started joking with us saying our table was not booked. But then she guided us to our table after much needed fun for us after work. The seating was quite good and we were bang opposite the stage set up for the performers.

We settled and started with our drinks. I must say I am a hardcore Single Malt fan and there were only 4 brands which I had never heard of...of which I tried Talisker !! My friends tried some mocktails and cocktails and all were pretty decent. We knew that the Nachos are amazing and without even asking, we ordered for them and we were not at all disappointed as they were true to their adjectives. We also tried a dish (which I do not remember) had a huge Paneer portion like a paper sheet and macaronis in a platter. It was decent. The Jumbo Combo we tried was a dish which had too much quantity but it never satisfied out taste buds. Honestly the dish was a waste of money.

The Live performance kicked off at 10 which was 2 hours after we settled down in HRC. I must say they were following the IST ;) The performance rocked even though I am not into Rock and heavy stuff but the performance was dedicated to Deep Purple and they delivered what they promised the affair to be.

The best part of the night was the YMCA dance which was truly amazing !! The performance went on till 12.30 A.M. and we had a ball. Lastly we pampered ourselves with a Dessert which was an Apple cake and it was good !!

The service of HRC, Mumbai is good as our host for the evening was quite hospitable but the only problem was when we asked for water. We had to call them thrice each time we wanted a glass of water which needs to be looked into. Is it that only orders for money would be entertained ?? The entertainment set us back by a good ONE GRAND per person. So guys if you have a cash crunch, then this is defo not the place for you !!

We had a good experience and I must credit and applaud the performance of the band as well as Luke Kenny for making it a memorable one !!

Thank you !!

WOW !!!!!!

This place is all about the experience. One tip from my side. Go there if your treating friends on your birthday, the staff there will make it a memorable one. How they do that, will be kept a surprise. One clue - it can get messy.

The staff is extremely courteous, fun loving and always ready to hit a dance move. The music is excellent. Though it's English, it is something from the popular genres. It won't sound alien or the kind of music played for head banging. It's pure popular rock music, catering to the mass.

Be sure to be in place when the staff do their "Chiggy Wiggy". It's a really entertaining moment. You wouldn't even mind your order coming late, but their moves are something you don't want to miss.

The drinks are great. The pick of the lot was the "purple haze". Pungent, but smooth. The Pomegranate Martini was good and the slight Pomegranate taste gelled extremely well with the sour of the Martini.

Now moving to the food. This is the only reason why I had to cut a star. The food isn't bad, its just that my "well done" steak was not so well done. The other dishes were good. The herb chicken was excellent. One sugesstion from my side could be a reduction in the amount of Mash Potato served with the main dish and a better mixture of vegetable. Brocolli, literally dominated the veggies. The food options are a little less. A greater number of options, especially in the Pasta area could do well. Also serving steaks with options of Marinade would be a great option. (Try the Blue frog Tenderloin wit the marinade options.............its awsome).

The entire experience was great, the place is expensive on the wallet, but worth it (once in a while). Damages for 8 (with wastage equal to almost 2 dishes) Rs 7773.

For best results treat your friends on a birthday / anniversary.

Oh ......I completely forgot about the ambiance, it was just so perfect. Great use of the high ceiling. The wood gave a great look to the place. The best part of the ambiance was the excellent use of levels. Seating was not over one flat floor, but very well distributed over several levels.

Another Brand Name

Although I love the idea of a hard rock cafe, the 'Hard Rock Cafe' leaves me quite sickened. Its great as a restaurant, but sucks as anything more. They cheapen the music they are supposed to stand for and have proved to be just another money making corporate venture meant to cater to the yuppies, with little knowledge of rock music, let alone 'hard rock'. To sum it up the Hard Rock Cafe in Bombay is just another money making franchise like KFC or McDonald's. At least those ones don't portend to be anything more than money making ventures.

Very Bad Service

The place is very roomy with a lot of space between tables as well. But besides that somehow it just didn't live up to the Hard Rock name for me.

Ambience: We went at around 730 on Friday so it largely had people coming in for after work drinks. The music was very average.

Food: Ordered a veg platter, nachos with salsa and onion rings. The veg platter consisted of hummus, bread, some green pate, spring rolls (or somthing like it), potato skins and salad. The hummus was very average, you can get better anywhere, the green pate was actually disgusting but the spring rolls very nice. The onion rings very average while the nachos were pretty bad. Had also eaten a veg pasta in white sauce on prior occasions which was actuially bland. In short at best the food can be called average.

Drinks: Had the appletini which was the worst Ive ever had and was served in a champagne flute.

Service: This place definately the worst service ever award. Given it was still early the place was half empty and yet to order anything, anything at all you had to tell the waiter 10 times. Yes we asked for water, sour cream and drinks atleast that many times. By the time the sour cream actually came we were almost done with the nachos so it really served no purpose.

There are many better places one can hang out at. I guess this place draws crowds due to the brand and lack of too many watering holes in Worli. Though it would be a good place to throw a kids party. They have a good afternoon party menu for Rs 350 per kid.

Really Rocking...

I have been there just 2 weeks before with 3 of ma friends....initially we ware expecting a seat but ofcourse it was Saterday Ni8....got seat after 1 hour.....its better to update your name and approximate timing to reach by making a call to them......we did too but lost our seat as reched 30 mints later....
Music really solid rock....ambiance ok...eye soothing sometimes....they will play Iron Maiden.Eminem,G&R, Pink P..and lots more...but within 4 hours I can't here Ramsteen n all....some time the weters stand on the mid and will present a group dance...occationaly there are live programes as well....
Cost ?? I will tell this place as mid-expensive.... softdrinks more than 120....beer starts from 120 small and 300 ml bottle 200/- ; I took 2 cocktails(sex on the beach) costs arround 500 (245/- x 2)....we ordered a american chicken dish with wing preparation.(I forgot the name)...they presented with a well decorated bowl....
The place is best for light food....good drinks and then enjoy the music...
Moral: Good place do not expect too much !! chilling wid frnds after hard working weekend is ok....

Rocking!!!

Just back after enjoying the sumptuous Rock n Roll lunch at Hard Rock. Couldnt believe this was the same action-packed, crowded place that I happened to visit one Friday night.

Rock n Roll Lunch is a fixed menu that includes Soup with Garlic Bread, Main Course ( to choose 1 out of 5 options given), Soft drink and Ice-cream. All at a price of 295 excluding taxes. Delicious and very filling!

Much has been mentioned about the great service and yes, indeed the service is fabulous! Very friendly staff who make sure that you are having a great time. If you are lucky (like us) they might just surprise you by giving the upgrade you asked for absolutely free!!!

The music, events, display of memorablia, crowd and infact everything about this place is first-rate. The kind of stuff which keeps telling you to go back again! If you haven't been to Hard Rock cafe, you certainly are missing on something! Way to go, guys!! U rock !!!

One of my Favs

I have been to HRC in Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore and Hyderabad so needless to say i absolutely love HRC. I visit one atleast once in a month. I'm more partial to the one in pune since they have a nice open sitting area which makes it more convenient for smokers. But i like the music better at HRC Bombay.
Though it is on the expensive side i don't mind indulging here especially since the menu has a lot to offer for those who are not concerned about their weight and for those who like their meat and having tried most of it I will definitely reccomend it for hard core non vegetarians!!!
Good food and good alcohol and rock music-my favorite combination :)but even if you don't want to indulge in the food they offer you will definitely like the alcohol they have to offer...

My all Time Favourite!!!

i am a regular at hard Rock cafe!!!
And why do i go there?? Burgers!!! The burgers here are to die for though a little expensive (around 450rs) but Definitely a MUST Try...
The Legendary 10oz Burger is The BEST!!
but the Beef Steak here just sucks, its was like eating a piece of a Hard rubber :(
Cocktails/Mocktails notthing great...
But best place for concerts, especially the international ones. and also the ticket prices of concerts(even international) are cheaper than the ones at Blue Frog..
Rock and Roll Lunch is also good.. i.e if you are goin only for the Food... its totally empty at that time.. Friday Night is the Best Time..
and NACHOS is a Total hype.. :

Food(Only burger): 5/5
Service: (3/5)
Value : (4/5)

Must Visit if u love burgers!!!

Night Life, American Style

Hard rock cafe is kinda place which will give u a glimpse into What American Night life is all About. I am happy that this has opened in Worli and so is near to my place. Have been here 4-5 times now and every time the experience is quite refreshing. Tuesdays and Thursdays are live band performances, entry for which is Rs.100/- per head. Parking is Rs.50/-
But the night to party here is Saturday night when all the damsels in the vicinity deck up and arrive at this party lounge. The crowd is up-market here.
About the ambiance: Its is dark here with wall drop lighting all around and musical instruments hanging all over the place. They have a performance deck above the bar which is a very cool way to design it. The sofas are a bit too heighted. They also have 2 sections above the base which are usually reserved for private parties. The place is spacious and the music is loud.
About the Food: I am a veg so cannot give an extensive comment on the food but the Jumbo Combo that I ordered was pathetic. Nachos are good but not the best. If i visit this place in the future I definitely wud not dine here. Will just have couple of drinks and thats it.

Cost: Bit on expensive side but worth it.

I have also been to The Blue Frog but Hard Rock is definitely better. You too would prefer Hard rock over Blue Frog if u like to see the young crowd.

Extremely disappointed with the Brunch!!

I arrived at 1:00 PM on a Sunday to try their Sunday Brunch. I was told that only a 'Kids Love Rock' special buffet was available and NO a la carte meal would be served.

Even though the food was meant to cater primarily for children, they surely could have done a far, far better job. The buffet was simply terrible - the food lacked taste, imagination, presentation and extremely limited in choice. For Rs. 750 per head, I expected a lot more - even BBQ Nation in Bandra gives better choice for less fare. I had to make several trips because most items were not being replenished. Give me a break - for a buffet, dessert can't be vanilla ice cream served on a cone! And that too - it wasn't served till a couple of reminders were made to the staff!

But what was very irritating was to see the foreign tourist crowd arrive after us and be served a la carte food.

What increased our exasperation further was complete disregard by the waiters - it even took me three reminders to get the bill.

Travelling to Hard Rock is a pain given that one has to pay for parking, pay for service charge (even in a chaotic buffet) and inattentive staff.

For this price and service, there are far better choices in Lower Parel.

Hard Rock is maybe good for having drinks on a Friday night, but is terrible for Sunday Brunch.

Hardly Rocks---And heres WHY----------------------

Went here's what i feel about this place --
Ambiance---Is Cool,Quite a huge place but they forgot to do justice to the space alloted to them ..The seating arrangement needs to be a bit more properly planned to give more seating space to those waiting. There are areas round the bar lacking bar stool n a few mushroom type of Chairs could be Arranged for sure..Right now this place looks like a college library or kolkatta coffee house which aint bad if it realy was one but the fact is its not suppose to be one of these.

Music-Seriously on a saturday night the music was preety dull .the rock song artist were fine but the songs selected from the artist numbers where the ones which i as a dj would never ever play for a saturday night ...They need to play lively rock or alternative rock music for SURE ..

Food-Expensive for SURE--Ordered potato skins not only were they burned but seriously a grown up person needs an average amount n rock lovers would call the quanity lame to.
THIS IS AN INTERNATIONAL CONCEPT HERE, THIS PLACE SHOULD ALSO COPY THE QUANITY TO,, NOT JUST THE AMBIENCE GUYZZ.

They are expensive but the price u pay does not or definatly does NOT do justice to the --QUANITY NOR THE QUALITY...
Place would be wort the visit --
If Seating arragment ii worked on ....
MAKE THIS PLACE ---Cost Effective......
Put--------- LIVELY ROCK .RETRO LTERNATIVE ROCK TYPE OF music or change the DJ PLEASE----

Funky!!

HARD rock cafe has been one of my favourite places to chill after work even since the first time i stepped in. Starting from the ambience, which is a tribute to all the rock gods through the ages, it is true to its name. The music is usually segregated according to the classifications of rock, although an argument over a request for a song left a lot to be desired on the actual knowledge of the dj on forms of rock. Live performances are brilliant, as the accoutics do justice to most bands. The food is a bit overpriced, so it makes sense to make it an evening of drinks, snacks and some brilliant music!

Everything except hard rock

I've visited Hard Rock Cafe's in Singapore, Bangkok, and Los Angeles and they share a common culture of great live bands with great sound and ambience. In Mumbai I was disappointed because they've made it into a fine-dine experience, with absolutely no focus on the live music!!! On the plus side, the food is great and the burgers did not disappoint. But sad to say, the music was boring and the live band who came on later sounded pathetic.

True Blue Americana

The first things that come to your mind when you enter Hard Rock - HUGE! It's a welcome change from the usual Mumbai Cafe's. At Hard Rock there's a lot to see besides food. I like places with high ceiling so this one qualifies...

The music and the ambience just takes you to another world. I got to hear some songs (and mind you with videos!) that I've not heard in ages!

The seating is good - not too crammed up. Food just about OK. My pina colada was way too thin I thought. Their nachos can give a Gujrati thali run for its money! Our waiter Lama was cute and friendly. I though the shop could have stocked many more knick knacks that there were.

Good Place For MuziK Lovers

-------------- Hard Rock Café ----------------
A quintessential American restaurant &lives up to its name.
The ambience is excellent with high ceiling a woodenfloor and multi level seating.
The food is ok, the drinks are quite alright, but the part is tht rock memorablia and the excellent collection of rockmusic played. Hard Rock Cafe has a certain zing to it and if you like rockmusic and want to have a drink with friends, this is an excellent place.
The cafe is quite expensive, but has excellent seating. If its late, the area around the bar gets crowded, but the seating area is seperate with anunobstructed view of the rock memorablia around. The servers get on the chairsand do a sort of dance for the YMCA song.
That was truly amazing. Overall, anexcellent place to take out of town friends or expats who love rock music.

Does it really rock???

Everybody has covered everything, said, written but WTF here goes.

Having been to a couple of other HRC did not really want to change my mind about the one here. But BIL & sister wanted to go since they have never missed any, wherever they have visited(thank god bangalore was not open)

Large place, with No valet parking (at least the day we went there). Go in & its pretty large - good - The sound was nice, with a lot of old music also being played, being a great follower of music, it was no surprise that I understood nothing of it.

Liked the seating, polite waiters, though once in a while a hustler would come on....But then the bad things started....

Margarita - screwed up with not even a hint of tequila. Regular whiskey did not even hit after the 3rd one.....makes one think of anna down the lane.....the bloody mary tasted like virgin.

The chips cold, nachos with dips as if going out of style. The BIL wanted a ice cream to round it off....when asked they said it would be a scoop....turned out 3 scoops of diff...vanilla, strawberry & something else.

BIL got into a discussion(americans call it discussion since it is english & with accent, we would call it arguement) since the glasses were not allowed to be taken. (Reasoning by HRC that abroad they include the price of glass in the drink, my take, the price here is similar)

Overall, would not return for the following reasons:

1) Driving is too far & parking is a problem, though have a driver.
2) Do not like the drinks
3) Till 9 it is fine, after that the sound gets to me.....age i guess
4) All my friends refuse to accompany me for the above reasons only.
5) Much better places to spend the same amount on.

Always a winner!!

I go to this place purely for the ambience, the awesome music, the decor, and the happening crowd. It rocks on live band nites, and you should not miss them. Some really cool undiscovered bands come and play, and besides Blue Frog there is a general shortage of such venues in this fine city.
The food is standard HRC fare but with some Indian modifications. The drinks are too watered down for my taste, so while ordering tell them to make it strong or cancel the order. The wait staff is very well trained and courteous. Bit expensive but worth the money. Amble on over to Shiro's afterwards (next door in the same compound), and no entry fee. Shiro's has some great drinks and appetizers. Ambience and crowd to die for.

Hard rock cafe really rocks... love the music and the ambeince with high ceiling and wooden flooring... the drinks are okay but yes their service is baaad!! Where are the serving ppl and why are they so ignorant about their own menu! AM appalled to see that such a nice place is loosing its lusture just because of bad service!
Food... i would rate as okay but then its not a wine and dine restaurant... so am not looking for world class menu on my plate. But hey just serve it fast and dont mis up the orders!!!
They really need to improve on service and have more live bands playing.... fantastic place for the music lovers of mumbai.

I got more than satisfaction.

Rock music being associated with young people , Hard Rock Cafe was definitely not my first choice of a restaurant especially when I was meeting a friend after a long time. But she had been there before and was convinced that it would appeal to my family - its great rock music, super large servings and distincly happy feel is a surefire lifter upper to any droopy spirit.

We were not disappointed. The huge cavernous cafe with Rock memorabilia was mind blowing. The restaurant was empty when we went but it soon filled up.We were a bit shocked by the number of young children wandering around but when we saw the humongous proportions of Ice cream sundaes, we could understand what was the USP for these young diners. Also, the entirely friendly and casual atmosphere where you could truly scream and talk loudly perhaps made it a better place to take the kids rather than some stuffy place where fellow diners glare their displeasure when a child runs past screaming.

We had fried potato skins for starters and onion rings which were simply amazing. Despite the large portions, we still had a main course each but had to give up on the dessert as there was just no place for more.

While the place is not exactly cheap, it is totally VFM with the large servings that leave you completely "fed up". Besides, the cheery waiters who suddenly burst into song add to the young and lively atmosphere of this place.

When you don't really want to have much conversation but just enjoy the atmosphere and good food, Hard Rock is the perfect place to unwind with old, familiar , rock music pulsating in the back ground and the happiness level way up high.

Rock fans will love it!

Hid behind the Bombay Dyeing showroom, nobody will ever get a whiff or hear a squeak of this place which showcases to be a Rockers Paradise! Unlike pubs in Bangalore which definitely are loud and play heavy metal, HRC was on the softer side with soft rock, grunge at times but yeah good rock music. The ambience was very good with an atmosphere that was created for absolute head banging on good numbers. I liked the wall mountings a lot, I saw a signature guitar (guess was a fender caster) and few 70s-80s apparels which our rock stars used to adorn during their live shows. Apart from that the crew on board were having lot of fun serving their guests and in fact gave a live performance delighting the mood of the people. I am not a great foodie so can't comment much on the food, but yes the burgers were really cool! I enjoyed the ambience, the drink, the food and above all the rock music. I would give this place a rating of 4 and would recommend rock lovers to visit this place at least once.

Drinks are tasty but wont make you ROCK!!!

All in all Hard Rock Cafe was a fun night.....

The drinks were good but too light for their price. We ordered the Long Island and Long Beach and they could have had more of a kick.

The vegetarian pasta here was my favorite. It was just the right amount of spice and sauce.

When we got there at 8.30pm it didnt look like anything would be rocking.....but by 10:30 the place was crowded and filled with youngsters.

Good if you want to grab a few drinks at a relaxed place....

Cheers....

the best cocktails in town

besides the the great music and hard rock memorabilia - the drinks taste awesome !
try frozen margharita or LIT ,have tried hrc pune/delhi , f-bar , blue frog etc etc.. but nothing matches the standards of hard rock mumbai when it comes to drinks mix. it's nothin short of perfection and the rates are comparitively modest.
However the food is bit heavy on the pockets !

monkey crew

was over monday night and boy do these guys need to learn the art of service. the food was ok, the music was good the place was more or less packed.

this dude who probably chewed a whole bag of mints took the order, confirmed it, came back and confirmed it, then sent someone else to confirm it, then someone else came in just for good measure and confirmed it(set me wondering if a mac n cheese and nachos were illegal)

Anyway, up comes the order and everything is wrong. when i pointed out that we wanted entree portions and not appetizer i got a stupid grin and a completely fake sorry.

so after dropping 1700 on a good bloody mary and daiquiri, half of the food we wanted, we just stuck around for some fabulous music.

Ouch...

My first time was a weekend night and the place was packed. That's fine, but since I don't like to be given a 45-minute wait for a table that finally never materialized, get shoved and pushed while trying to get a drink, shout to hear myself heard, or watch the uniformed waiters do some lame dance on top of a lamer "stage" that they look like they don't really want to do (and i don't blame them), my first time was probably my last time.

New Year's Party: Zero Stars

I made the big mistake of thinking that the New Year's party at HRC was the place to be. Went a day early to book the entry pass too. On 31st night, they kept letting people in - the place was overcrowded beyond belief. No space to move at all, we were constantly being jostled by people struggling to get through. The DJ ringing in midnight wasn't all that either - he kept playing house - the same beat over and over - no New Year countdown - nothing. I left at 12:05am....very disappointing.

Hard Rock really rocks!!

If ur a die hard rock fan.. this is a place you cant miss!! Like all other foriegn restaurants.. Hard Rock is truly a symbol of all that is american and rock music. With artists memorabilia displayed at every nook and corner, u cant help but get transported to the "americanised" world.

Bookings start at 8.30 so make sure u have a table to your name or be there early to get one of your choice. Once your in the music kinda gets to you. the foot starts taping, you start swaying.. that's d effect of good quality pulsating rock music!

service is kinda slow.. with the people themselves busy (probably some kinda brotherhood.. they all look similar even the girs!!) probably thts why d entire "YMCA" jiggle.

the food portions are good though dont have a limited selection for vegans. but the food is totally worthy it!!

now d drinks are topnotch. if ur bored with wats on the menu.. take a walk by the bar and ask the bartender to make sumthin special. [hint: try at your own risk. mine was mind blowing :) ]

a great place to hang out wid office buddies.. a rocking nite..cheers!!

Love this place!!!!

I love Rock n Roll! I love Hard Rock Cafe! Its huge and full of life whenever i go. The best place to be in for its music. I love this place because they play the music I love and cherish since I was young. It also encourages Indian bands. The place is always crowded and I would never get bored here.Hats off to the manager who has done great work with the interiors and handled the place so well. Since, its a franchise I feel its the best Hard Rock Cafe I have ever been to till now. They could however improve on the food. Drinks are fanatastic. I love the Iced Tea there.

The best time to go...

has to be 12:30 pm, like I did the other day -- was in area on work, had time out for an early lunch. The place was clean, airy and bright, of course colleague and I were the only people there. Gave us plenty of time and space to check out the memorabilia, no shouting required, no choking on stale air.

The Herb Grilled Chicken was memorable, tender and juicy, served with yummy veggies and mash. What I did not like was the waiter pushing me to have the beer of his choice (Peroni) -- a suggestion is fine, but hey buddy, it feels much better if I order with an air of choice rather than surrender (the beer is fine, it was a good suggestion, but I was not in a mood to try something new that day). And how can a place not have Kingfisher or Heineken?

Overall a happy meal, but obviously not the true character of the place!

Entertaining.

A great ambiance combined with great music and service makes this one of my favorite destinations in the city. The food could do with a little sprucing up (almost the same menu since its opening) and i've noticed quality dwindling (not significantly though) over the years. Also when certain local bands are performing it becomes a giant high school and impossible to get a table or a decent meal. While some might think this is great, I believe it spoils the entire vibe of the restaurant. Imagine walking into your kid (who is piss drunk on cheap beer) at a great spot like this?

Talk about a buzz kill.

Recommendation(s)-
Cheese Burger.
Fried Calamari.
Steak. (Not great but better than most).
Loaded nachos.

bah!

well, i finally did it, went to a hard rock cafe, that too in Bombay.

one of the reasons i went there was to hopefully get a bite into some glorious tex-mex american style but no dice. the nachos were soggy and pretty badly put together, the salad was not too bad. the fajitas were absolutely horrible, bitter even to taste. they were left pretty much untouched.
The mac and cheese side was great as were the fries.

The caipirosca was absolutely dreadful but the bloody mary was one of the best i have ever had (i had 3) and its big :)

overall pretty disappointing. the place is well done up and crowded, the music is patchy. the food is crap.

i am still looking for a good tex-mex meal

damage was around 3400 for 3

The up-market version of it!

I admit I have never been to a hard rock cafe in any other country...I should also admit it's because I have always associated it with an almost crass sort of image and hence the chain has just never appealed to me. But this is bombay and here you go anywhere new right?!You bet, and how. I have now been here atleast 7 or 8 times and despite its fairly steeply priced drinks (1000 buck cover after 9.30PM on Fri/Sat gets you probably 2.5 - 3 drinks. Enough for some. Not so for all:)). The ambience is casual and fun with the high point being the music (what about '80s music makes it sound better and better as the drinks go down?!), the amazing high ceiling and NOT the hideous outfits staring at you from every wall!
So....the plus points -
1)Nothing about this place/its atmosphere makes you think its part of a chain ( a bad word for some of us!)
2) It manages to attract a good crowd who actually look like they're there to relax and have a good time (and not just to be seen)
3)Great music

The negatives
1) Very "south-west american" type menu (read blocked arteries!), limited options for veggies though the grilled sandwich isn't too bad
2)Loses the "let's go every fri night" poll due to steep pricing
3) The DJ just won't take requests!
In summary I quite like this place.... DESPITE it being a Hard Rock Cafe!

Diluted drinks and lousy service

I think this place does ok on ambience and service and probably tries hard to live off the Hard Rock brand, but the current level of management/ service leaves much to be desired. Waiters who can't even take a correct order properly, your drink comes as if it had couple of drops of alcohol mercifully added to it. Infact the place has become notorious for serving highly diluted drinks so most of my friends to mix their drinks on their table itself. Avoidable place except probabaly for a dekko otherwise you will leave fuming with the service.

It's Rockin!

Nothing else describes this place better - IT ROCKS...literally and figuratively!

My highpoints of the place...
i) Awesome rock music...mix of classics n currents
ii) Awesome LIVE rock music...some bands are too good
iii) Great crowd...as someone has reviewed, crowd that wants to have a good time, not just be seen around
iv) The YMCA routine by the servers...I think its cool!

I don't think too much about the food and drinks, though the Veg Spring Rolls are awesome.

So, whenever u wanna rock...head for HRC!!!

Sound of music, pound of nachos!

That's for the tee-totallers... As for me, I love the compound carefully crafted by God with Carbon, Oxygen and Hydrogen... :)

Now what do we do while there -- To begin with, let's not attempt to sing along in sheer gay abandon or read through the menu for what to munch on.. some food might be avoidable, but strangely enough (going against a few reviews) I loved the vegetarian nachos (I could have lovingly licked a bowl of garlic-guava paste.. blame the C, O & H)... had two large portions (of course with colleagues)..

Now for the poisons -- Haven't tried the fancy ones yet... And don't think I need to pen thoughts on Teachers or Cutty Sark or the Glens... but what the others liked on the table - caipiroska, daiquiri, hurricane etc.

For a 1000 bucks / pax, this should really not be too expensive... The YMCA part (although cheesy for few) gets the crowd's attention, the merchandise array is neat, and the waiters are attentive...

Hope to be there over a weekend and try the other drinks.. Until then... Burrrp!

Nice, but...

I recently visited this newly started establishment. First - up, the place is huge, and nicely done up. There are different types of seating, but all with a good view over the complete set - up. Sound system is obviously good, with flat screens all over the place.

What I didn't like was the overly formal feel of the place. It is definitely not the place to meet up with friends, hang out, have a drink, listen to cool music, etc. It is a corporate place, a place to be seen in.

The drinks were interesing, food was good. But a tad expensive (though the servings are fair sized).

Not really my cup of tea. My favourite 'Rock Bar' remains 'Peco's' in Bangalore.

nightlife review...

This review will just be covering the nightlife aspect of Hard Rock since I didn't grub here. Ventured here on a Saturday night with the crew and was pleasantly surprised by a short line, but a nice, lively crowd that all had one thing in common - they loved rock and roll! The DJ did a great job actually mixing some great classic rock tunes, and the crowd was totally into it. The highlight of the night was when the Hard Rock staff all jumped up on tables and banisters to dance to YMCA - really got the crowd into it.

The bartenders aren't the smartest guys in the world, and the drinks aren't as stiff as one would like, but when are they ever? Place got really packed by about midnight, but it was still comfortable.

Our impression was that Hard Rock was a place to go and grab drinks before settling in at another spot. We were glad to be wrong. Would come back here again on any given Saturday and it's highly recommended for those needing a taste of Bon Jovi, Van Halen, or Guns n' Roses.

India gets its first Hard Rock!

Hard Rock cafe is located at Bombay Dyeing Mill compound just further to Mahindra towers. I have been wanting to visit this place since i heard it was opening in Feb, but unfortunately due to license issues it closed down. So finally when it opened 2 weeks ago i just had to visit it, but just didnt get a chance until yesterday post work

As you get off at BDMcompound, there is just one small board says HardRock Cafe Mumbai and you wonder how big or small this cafe would be. As you walk in towards the cafe entrance its almost seems like your walking to some underground place.I am astonished by the sign (40rs car park) that is somthing. On the way i pass through Shero( dont knwo if i get the spelling right) in another huge fancy lounge bar.

As i walk towards what seems like the entrance of Hard Rock, am delighted to be greeted by the huge neon sign in a shape of a guita, its not lighted right now, but i can imagine how cool it would look

Ambience- The doors are huge and the interiors have huge ceilings coz of the mill structure. The Hard Rock cafe is huge. Even the Hard Rocks that i have visited in Chicago and Buffalo(niagra falls) has not been so huge. The cafe has three diffrent sitting areas that is threee dinning areas and one bar area. The walls are done in through Hard rock style with memorablia of rockstars ranging from Elton John to Bob Dylan to Madonna and Spice girls, videos playing on the televison, records etc.

Service- The service is very attentive,i am visiting the place around evening before dinner time so you can see a battelion of waiters being given instructions by the manager, preparing for the Saturday night

Food- The main choices are sandwiches & salads and some exotic mocktails. All the food is steeply priced starting at Rs 275.I enjoy my Iced Cafe(75bucks) and hold on my Cheese cake its their traditional one(275) bucks. But the Cheese cake is really good, one of the freshest cheese cakes i have eaten in a while

Over all experience- Nice place to visit, but for some strange reason it makes me feel no diffrent from a visit to Chillis or Ruby Tuesday.

Comme ci comme ca

Went there specifically for their burger for my 'Best Burger in Mumbai' hunt.

Went there one Friday late afternoon, and found a table pretty quickly. That's not common if you go to HRC at night. To show some good old American love, the waiters and servers introduce themselves and insist on shaking hands. I don't mind that at other times, but I'm always iffy about people's ideas of hygiene and would rather not shake hands before I'm going to eat, else it's a handwash waiting to happen.
I'd suggest cutting the handshake out of the routine. The friendly introduction should suffice.

The order was placed easily enough. I was asked for my preferred done-ness of the meat. I said Medium. They gave me well done and somewhat dry. Story of 'meat' eating in Mumbai. People will ask you if you want it done any rarer than well done, but they'll generally get it well done.

Then, suddenly, all the wait staff disappeared to get on top of a ledge bordering the booth I was sitting in, and started dancing. Again, a food hygiene thing -- having shoes stomp 3-4 feet on top of my food is not terribly appetizing.

The burger was tall, the patty looked plump, and we were in a good place.
I won't wax eloquent about flavors, but the burger was tummy filling, but not soul-filling. The well done patty takes a good bunch of blame. I was too hungry to complain and then have them take 10-15 mins more to get me a fresh one. So...life. Choices.

It is a pretty big burger what with the onion rings, tomato, and lettuce layered on. I'd say leave out the pickle. It takes more away from the burger than it adds to it.

The side fries. Oh, those were pretty darned good. Much better than the nonsense McD peddles in the name of fries. The HRC fries are thicker, firmer, and have a much better bite.

The burger -- 6/10
VFM - 6.5/10

Will I be back? Invariably, I guess, for beers or for some fattening American food.

I have been here a couple of times and have always had an amazing time.
The first time i stepped inside, instead of going straight to the table, i took a trip around the cafe because it's made so perfectly.
Everything around feels like it's made with so much love and keeps in mind the music enthusiast at every step.
Food is good and music is..awesome.

Exceeds expectations !!!

Seems quite insubstantial to pen down a review for a place that already has more than just a few..But will put in my two cents ....

Ambience is at par wih other HRCs across the country but probably a little smaller than Bangalore and Pune. Service was immaculate.

It was a friend's birthday and we ordered a couple of king-sized choc pastries which more than doubled up as the birthday cake.

To all my friends' dismay, it turned out to be a dry-day and hence all of us had to suffice with mocktails. We ordered chicken and veg platters as starters which were above-par and left us with pretty much no room for their huge burgers.

The pastries, mocktails and starters set him back by about 3.5k. Overall a very memorable evening. Kudos to the service again....Great job !!!! P.S. for the uninitiated, the YMCA performance at around 2200 hrs is something to watch :)

Good experience

Went to HRC last night.

The Good:

The ambiance and the staff were great. The choice of alcohol and beers were extensive and the beer served was CHILLED! Just like it should be. The music was great to begin with, towards 12 ish it just started getting bad.

The Not So Good:
Did not quite like the VFM when it came to their food - the jumbo non veg platter had a good amount of buffalo wings and a couple of chicken strips - but onion rings in a non veg platter - aw cmon. The nachos were also strictly OK. The tenderloin fajita lacked flavor and the accompanying guacamole was horrible - not to mention that one of the cheeses was bitter like hell. In hindsight, perhaps I should have gone with their burgers.

All in all a decent place for a visit or two. Cheers!

What's the fuss all about??

Huge disappointment if I go by their Veg servings, none of the dishes lived upto the name. I know its more famous for the ambience, booze and rock but still you need good food to accompany right!!!. We sampled onion rings (Café Mondegar offer better one), potato Skin(totally avoidable), Pasta Aragharita (not worth it), Balsamic Tomato Bruschetta (don’t order if you don’t like cold platter), legendary burger(in what sense???). In all a complete let down, definitely not a place to visit if you are a vegetarian who loves his food and top of it the quantity is so much that it gets difficult to finish.

Enjoyed the burgers and the appetizers. The ambiance is well done and the serving staff is lively. The music is awesome. However, the person taking reservations on the phone sounded confused, the wait list management was poor, the beer on tap was a little flat and the moist towelettes had a stinky odor. Definitely recommended if the management acts upon these problem areas.

Executive Lunch ... Not So Executive after alll

So when your working in the area and there's a buffet literally next door...anyone would be delighted :D ! Priced at a reasonable Rs. 350/- this lunch at HRC would be anyone's pleasure. However when you walk in and explore , the spread isn't what their reputation lives upto , with soups and salads , a pasta counter and a mughlai spread, this buffet does not live upto their reputation. Inspite of the very enegertic staff, the food could use a little more of a Hard Rock touch to it to make me go back. Maybe include the food they are famous for :) !

Excellent Ambience..!!

I looove the burgers and cocktails they serve and when u add a live performance to it the fun is at another level all together.... Expensive but value for money. The rock memorablia all around adds to the venues charm. I went to the one at Worli... now another has opened at Andheri west... will like to visit that on a wednesday as I heard the gigs happen there on Wednesdays..

Excellent swag!

This place has the most awesome ambience ever for a music lover .. I love how all the memorabilia is displayed in such a wonderful way! The music is the best part about this place.. The food is also very nice and not very expensive.. I LOVE to have the cosmopolitan here ! Its made so well.. The funkiest part about this place is when the waiters start dancing on the table when the song YMCA is played.. So much fun to see them perform.. Overall you can also catch a few good performances here by various bands!

Amazing place

This is one place which one must visit for the live music and also the food is quite good. I love the chicken wings, Mac and cheese, jumbo chicken platter, burgers and they are all good on pocket too since they are all mini meals in themselves..been here with friends over 5 -6 times and we always enjoy ourselves to the fullest!

YMCA !!!

Who hasn't been to Hard rock? If you haven't then you are missing out on a lot and I mean A LOT.

This is the place to be when you need that little push of motivation. From the entry itself you will love everything about this place. A fun taxi ride later, we reached Hard rock for some rock and Bollywood nigh. It was fun.

Obviously the YMCA was the highlight of the night. Everyone should just stop when YMCA starts.

LOVE LOVE the service. Won't forget it at all ever!!

Yes you pay a little price for all the fun and loving, but once in a while it is fine.

Music!!!

This is one place you go just to watch YMCA, it happen at I guess 10. By that time one is too high too realize what the time exactly is. Fantastic atmosphere and music plus with the staff always smiling doing the steps just ups the atmosphere here. Food, especially the finger food is really good with the drinks. I have just once ended up reaching the main course. That's when I had ordered a burger. It was good by the way.

Legendary place

Loved being here, thanks to my college friends who took me for a live event. This place has fantastic ambiance, don't go here for food rather go for the events and buzz. For those who love to drink, some innovative cocktails and mocktails are there. In food, try the veggie burger, Lebanese burger, onion rings, nachos which are all filling but also expensive -however won't mind because the ambiance and crowd is mind blowing!

Party Louddd

Hard Rock Cafe is a great place to go with friends and family no matter what the occasion. The ambiance is fantastic, gives a warm feel and definitely helps if you have a friend in a bad mood.. Hard to not react to the amazing surrounding.
Food is really good, dishes to international standard. The staff is friendly and helpful... Will give you like a tour of the place if you ask, getting you familiar with the history and meanings of things they have displayed. Definitely a place i would suggest to people!

Best Place Ever!!!

Ah this place always warms my heart. The best music, and great food. I went to this place with my relatives and I didn't think I would enjoy at all. I thought I would end up regretting the entire night. But on the contrary I had the best time ever.

The food was of good quality and in good proportions, albeit a little expensive but thankfully my relatives took care of the bill.

The staff is great and friendly and they make sure we have a good time. The Hard Rock Cafe store is also great.

Place to party hard

My last visit here was yesterday for their 45th Birthday and guess what..they had burgers for just Rs 45. How amazing it was to try their all time lovely burger at such incredible pricing. It was for the first 100 entries hence I am sure many were disappointed because they served their 100 burgers in just about 30 minutes.

For music lovers, this place is surely no less than heaven. For bands, this is your platform to earn your audience and walk out being someone. For foodies, you get yourself a feast here.

Hard rock best known for their heavy and awesomely filling burgers have got quite a variety for new visitors. They have events even for free at times and party space in Worli outlet for a good gang of 25 people. Bartenders are pretty good at serving you well.

Good Music and good food

It is one place for all rock fans and all people who like to have a good time and look for ambiance while eating.

Though it is expensive, it is worth the time spent there and if people are worried about the expense they should at least try it once when in Mumbai.

We ordered the Bruschetta while there, it was a little dry for us.

We also ordered burgers. The burgers here are totally worth it and should be a must try.

Music bole toh Hardrock

THIS PLACE IS WORTH EVERY PENNY!!
Right from the ambience to food to service to entertainment, everything is spot on!!!
So I've been to this place a couple of times and it has never let me down.

AMBIENCE: 5/5
Decor screams retro.
Love the seating especially the booths. The place is ubiquitous!! Hence you'll always find a place within minutes unless there's an event. Love the saxophone chandelier - it is gorgeous.

FOOD: 4/5
Love the burgers!
Do try the classic chicken burger and the hickory smoke beef burger

Must must must try-
ONION RINGS
These were probably the best onion rings I've ever had. Perfectly crisp yet not at all greasy.

The veg platter is super as well.

SERVICE: 5/5
Yes, I would like the mention this column in brief because the service at HRC is exceptionally good. The best service a place can probably provide. The staff is extremely friendly. They probably love what they do and hence you shall never be disappointed by their service

Nice Music

The music here is absolutely amazing. It is so loud but the if good music is loud it doesn't matter. They also have nice live gigs playing from time to time.

We went to watch Outlandish live and it was really great. Their food and alcohol is expensive but its totally worth it.
