Deficiency in Service @ Bikaji Food Junxon, Link R

The things I would like to point out few things -

1) The art of packing sweets in specific Tokri / Case is very limited,
2) The expression on the face of the staff is such that you feel either they are being forced to work or they are not concerned about the customer,
3) A lady customer had come in asking for just a single piece of Samosa to be packed but your staff sent her back citing reason that they do not have facility for packing 1 samosa, what big facility you require to pack just 1 samosa ? just wrap it in a Paper Bag & hand over to the customer, the customer feels satisfied with this. On the contrary your staff point blankly said NO & the customer was left the place cursing the staff & service and over and above that few other customers joined in too.

Asli Bikaneri...

Bikaji ... I started eating Bikaji Bhujia when I think I was 6 months old ,since we are from rajasthan , we eat lots of Bhujia and I remember eating Bikaji Bhujia since childhood.
When I heard we have a new Bikaji junction on link road, went there and was amazed to see Bikaji products and Chaats.

Had Dahi bhalla and Aloo tikki which aren't easily available in Mumbai but in rajasthan and was very happy with taste.

I love this Bikaji junxon :-)

The best pyaaz kachori in the city

Bikaji Food Junxon is a boon for lovers of Indian fast food, farsaan and sweets. The place serves a variety of Rajasthani, Gujarati and South Indian snacks and an assortment of delicious sweets.

My recommendation here would be the "pyaaz ki kachori". This is dish that is very famous throughout Rajasthan. Every major town in the state has its own take on the iconic pyaaz ki kachori; Jodhpur, however, takes the lead and the pyaaz ki kachoris from the city are considered to be the best. The kachoris at Bikaji also can be considered to be pretty good. The crisp, golden fried kachoris filled with spicy, tangy potato and onion mix are a treat for any food lover's taste buds.

Apart from the above, I also recommend their sweets, as I find them of quite quality. Their chaat items are also good. Totally recommended place for Indian sweets and farsaan.

Yummm....

I did not know of its existence in Mumbai till I joined my previous organisation whose office was located near Bikaji. For any important visitor or for no special reason also, the snacks were sourced from Bikaji.

I have not had a better Pyaaj Kachori anywhere in Mumbai before, it’s just awesome. The Samosa is also pretty decent. The Raj Kachori Chaat is full with Dahi and very filling.

Chhole Bhature is another speciality. The chhole are soft, nicely done and with the right amount of spices. Bhature are shaped differently from the regular ones you get elsewhere. Served with a spicy green chilly and some masala potatoes; this dish is HIT from the word GO.

Due to its origin in North India, the Chaat items are nicely made.

I have not tried the South Indian items on their menu yet.

Make sure you try the Kesar Badam Milk after gorging on the Main Course. It’s thick n too good to believe and they serve it cold, which makes it even more yummy.

I have also sampled the Gulab Jamun, Gajar ka Halwa and Moong Dal ka Halwa. Well, I have to say the Sweets are equally nice to the Chaat / Main Course items.

They also have a large variety of Namkeens on Sale, which you can sample and then decide to buy.

So the norm to be followed here is EAT SOME (here), TAKE SOME (home)

Enjoy the experience!

Decent

Had gone there last evening. First thing I observed was that everything was overpriced. A chaat item for Rs. 70!!?? Tried the Papdi Chaat. Decent - not bad; not great. Awesome badam milk though. Certainly one of the best I've had!! Would want to visit again & try out some of the other items on the menu to complete my review.

Dangerous Packaging

I bought Bikaji Moong Dal Snack from Edison, NJ Indian supermarket. To my worst surprise, it contained big pieces of salt (like soft stone). I accidently ate one big piece of salt and made me sick later and kept vomiting.

I thought such big brand will have good quality control and now, I am afraid of any snack from India.
Be careful everyone and check inside before you eat anything from Bikaji.

Shut down and clear some space for other eateries!

Bikaji is the only food place which gives discounts often thru ads in the paper. Buy one, one free, 50% off, etc.

This itself proves that they themselves know that their food sucks, its over priced and the only way to keep fooling the bank(for their business loan) is to show cash flow and hence these discounts.

The other day I went to buy a few samosas and onion kachoris! both over priced at 10 and 15 respectively. Had a look around for few sweets, everything is over priced by at-least 20-30%. Rasmalai for Rs. 20, how crazy is that!

I bought samosa and kachori and both the taste was way bad! Couldn't even finish all what I bought.

This place really needs to close, so that the space can be utilized by something better and hopefully another better food joint.

If the owners have any shame, they would close it ASAP!

I highly recommend Sabkuch for better and reasonable food!

Awfully pathetic

Apart from the sky high prices, the food does not satisfy the most tasteless' tastebuds too. Not to mention the absence of any customer service. A sheer waste of space and for the people visiting them , a waste of money and effort

Extremely overpriced and taste much below average

The chat items are obscenely overpriced as in a dahi papdi chaat costs around Rs.60/-.( and that too for a self service outlet) The taste was sub-standard. Chhole bature were over priced too (Rs.80/-),had the wrong type of chana, the masala used was not the one used to prepare chhole sabji. In sweets, gajar halwa - less of gajar, more of mawa and that too in very small portions.

Worst Experience

I had a chance to visit on sunday morning and i ordered 10 Kachori. During the process of packing i asked for Chutni but they told that they dont give green chutni and their staff misbehaved like anything. It is shameful that they are charging Rs 10 for each piece and despite that they are not serving chutni. It was the worst experience ever.

Bikaji...Not for me

I rarely go on Link Road but whenever I see this place, it is always crowded and unpleasant to enter.

A day before Diwali I went there to buy sweets with a colleague. The whole place is a mess. You need to go to three counters if you want to buy fresh stuff.

Luckily I got a packed box and was out. That too took 15 minutes.

And guess what, it has big notice at the counter. No credit or debit cards accepted.

I hope this is not the case everyday. Doesn't really matter bcos I doubt will visit anytime soon.

That's customer service.. Bikaji style...

Good food.

I like this place for its variety of chaat items that it has on offer. A very Haldiram's like restaurant for the first time in Mumbai. Since the place serves such good stuff it is generally packed on weekends and that can be a let down. Also parking is an issue. So park nearby in the Croma compound and walk down to Bikaji and have your fill of hot steaming Jalebis.

Chaat and vaat

Ever since I found out that Bikaji had opened up shop, I was itching to take my family out for some chaat and fun time together. I'd heard that their pani-puri errr gol-guppe is served Delhi style. So I headed out to Bikaji with my clan this evening hoping for a pleasant and nostalgic experience. You see, I've spent about 6 months living in Delhi and have feasted on chaat and gol-guppe during my stay there. When I moved to Mumbai I tried many places including Kailash Parbat and Elcos, but found that the pani-puri is served Mumbai style, not Delhi style. There is a difference. Don't ask me what it is, but it is there.

Anyway, we reached there at about 9.30 pm. There was no valet, but a guy in security uniform instructed me to park on the other side of the road. The cars on the Bikaji side of the road were parked haphazardly. The outside scene was chaotic and there was no valet service. Lost one star.

Once we reached inside, we realized that the place was packed to the brim with people and the scene was utterly chaotic. The place is self-service only. There were people running around with plates of food ~ probably ferrying it to their respective tables, shouting and a general hullabaloo. Obviously, no one followed any queue mechanism. He who shouted the loudest, got served first.

After we fought our battle of ordering food and then shouting for it to be delivered we took it outside the restaurant where the rest of the family was waiting. There were no tables vacant on either of the two floors. It's not that they don't have space. The space is plenty, but it's poorly managed. Some of the people were even having their food standing. Lost the second star.

The food was good. While the pani puri and the dahi-bhalla were a notch above Kailash Parbat's, the rest of the stuff was okay. The plain dosa was also good. We tried the following - bhelpuri, papdi-chaat, dahi-puri, pani-puri, dahi-bhalla and dosa.

The three stars that I am giving this place are for the food. The service (or the lack of it) cost them two stars.
