  • One of the best biriyanis

    I have been to Shiraz Golden for 3-4 times and max of time I had biriyani. I can tell u it's no doubt one of the best biriyanis of town in a cheap price. I tasted some other dishes and those also didn't disappoint me. Although the ambiance is not up to the mark but the delicious food will make u forget all that.

  • Siraz is always "Golden"

    I left Kolkata for the last 6-7 years. Whenever I go back, I carry a "to dos list". On top of that list is always to have the Biriyani from Shiraz.

    It's while writing from Bombay, in this afternoon still I can smell the aroma of their Biriyani. The mixed khusboo of itter, rice and mutton just creats an euphoria.

    The chunk of mutton cooked to melt in your mouth, I had only once in a Greek eatery in London.

  • Shiraz was always biryani!

    This was a monthly thing. When on the 1st saturday when reviews were completed & biryani was ordered & it had to be Shiraz only.

    Remember way back in 90's these guys used to wrap it in foil with individual onions, raita & hand it over to the guy who had gone to pick it up. Not once ever did they mess up the order.

    A great place to eat also. Though visited it only once, to try out the chicken chaap with their hot naans, it is a vision to take U to calcutta all over again.
