Great for Fish 2011-04-14
Was taken by a friend to this place while visiting Kolkata in March. Good location, being closer to Southern Avenue, and not a very crowded place. The decor is a bit mixed up and looks very traditional. They could do with a more modern setting which is not so colonial looking.
The service was very attentive and actually very good. Very helpful with the menu and contents. What I liked about this place was the fish - we had some variations of fish, mainly grilled. And clearly, it was delicious.
The prices are reasonable, and I would say a good place for casual dining. -

great ambience and food and serving 2009-07-04
the first review is just rubbish
actually during important occasions we actually party at this restaurant
the italian food is really tasty only problem is that they don't serve pizzas
the indian food is just out of world every item is cooked to perfection
the cook is really good out here
and it is my personal suggestion that to have best italian food in kolkata MARCO POLO IS THE ONLY NAME
TRY VISITING DURING THE TUSCAN FESTIVAL -

Confusing ambience,reasonable food 2009-04-01
Marco Polo isn't really expensive. Not by a long chalk. However, it should look into the ambience and work towards a better hospitality.
We had Fresh Lime Soda, Garlic Bread, Spaghetti Bolognese, Spaghetti ala Carbonara and Lasagne alla Casalinga. None of the items had their actual flavor. In fact, the Bolognese was way off the mark. The Garlic Bread was far too garlic-y than required.
A word to the wise - play it safe and, ask for the day's specials. -
