  • Not consistent

I've visited Casa Toscana four times now, and have had a different experience (although I've ordered the same food more or less) each time. Coming from Delhi, where one is spoilt for choice when it comes to Italian food, it appeared to me on my first visit here that I had finally found a good place to satiate my appetite for good pizzas, pastas, brushcettas and the like.

The four cheese pizza was excellent - a nice just-about-crunchy thin crust with oodles of cheese. When hot, it seemed divine. The basic pasta (the first item on the pasta menu) was well done - a nice drizzle of olive

  • Nice but expensive..

Expect to wait for at least half an hour if you go on a weekend. The food here is decent, the decor minimalist and the service good. The lasagne was probabably the best that I have had in Calcutta, the pizza suitably italian but the gooey chocalate cake was a let down...Expect to shell out at least 1k for a meal for two(excluding the wine) ..

  • Wine would make it Perfect

the food is excellent and the helpings are neat so is the price. i loved the ambiance and i seriously hope it lasts in Calcutta which it should considering the city is a food lovers paradise. We need more such places and different cuisines in Calcutta desperately! Overall id rate it as 9/10 :)) barring the wine for which they don't have license YET :(

A must visit place for those who love Italian food. The place reminds me of just how an Italian joint should be!! less formal with an ancient and long lost look. The only thing missing was the wine. My reccomendation would be starters and the risottos. You are spoilt for choice with the desserts offering the seasonal cheese cake, googy chocolate cake and the tiramisu .
