Awesome Outlet near PHOENIX MARKET CITY

I discovered this place on my way to phoenix market city. Lovely ambience and great service. Excellent choice of cuisine. I love north Indian and continental and guess what, this place offers them both. I hate eating at the Mall for the crowd and I also find the food un-fresh and expensive. I had Pasta and my friend had a Meal which was very tasty. Will visit this place more often. Worth a visit for veggie lovers.

Consistently Delightful

I love this restaurant! While the restaurant's branch in Besant Nagar is a tad cramped, the one in Velachery is spacious, well planned and warmly lit. I eat here regularly and have never once had a disappointing experience. The staff is polite and efficient. The service is quick and clean.

Haven Sampoorna has a great menu! You can choose from a variety of cuisines and surprisingly, they are all equally good. You can be rest assured that you will not get an "Indianized" Arrabiatta pasta. The "Roti with Dal and Gravy" combo is ideal if you are not hungry but "could eat". The dal and rotis taste like home-cooked fare! Yum.

"Pita pockets with tzatziki and hummus", while not on the menu (!), is a starter to die for. Do ask for it. The Schezwan fried rice here is better than the stuff that half the Chinese restaurants in the city serve. They claim to serve only freshly cooked food (no reheated food is served), and this is evident in the flavour of the soups. You actually get to taste the vegetables and the spices are not overwhelming either. PAAN ICE-CREAM is a must have!! It is a paan-y, gulkand-y, creamy delight that leaves just the right taste in your mouth after a hearty meal. And you know what? It is extremely budget-friendly too! I'd highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

My Most Favorite Restaurant

Well, I am a regular since it was started some years ago. It was a small place with just 20 seats. From the inception till now one thing that has not changed is the great food and excellent service. I visit this place often and I admire the owner who always stays there to ensure that everything is in place. Unlike the others he does not ensure that other are aware of who he is, but keeps training his team how to do things. Though I have been coming here often I never cared to write in as I am not that kind. Today when I wanted to search for a new restaurant I came across a few and did visit one.Honestly it was no where near the experience I used to have at Haven. After my lunch I felt I must write in to ensure that others must also know about this place . I wish all those who wish to have a very good vegetarian food to give this place a try. Its really worth it. I wish the promoter of this place good luck and wish he opens more restaurants in town.

Bet On This Place Anytime !

This place never disappoints you. And you can easily boast about this place to anyone who is new to this city. I have been visiting this place many times - I mean really many (how can one forget those days when it was a small joint and the service is real homely ). Last week took couple of people here and they are good with the food/location/interior. Just the wash room disappointed. Every restaurant should learn that the cutlery, wash basin/room creates an impression as well. So, folks - watch out. P.S - though, I don't want to complain about food, but think about a situation wherein the soup has been sent back twice - because first time it was cold, second time its warm. Who should be educated that soup should be served Hot' !!!

Finally, A True H(e)aven For Veggies!

I so wanted to visit this place for almost an year but never got a chance or the plans got crashed someway or the other. But last week I managed to make it to Haven for dinner with my fiancée. We reached the restaurant at 6:30 pm but they do not open up until 7. We were received by Darryl who was to serve us for the day. He was quick enough to show us to the waiting area and served us some water. I wanted to place the orders so that we could start right away once they are open. He readily took the orders. We skipped the soups and went for the Mediterranean Grilled salad and Aloo Chutneywale for starters. For Main course we ordered the Veg Lasagna. We were shown our tables by 6:50 and Darryl started serving our items almost immediately. The ambiance of the place is great and the lighting was perfect for a peaceful dinner with a loved one ;) The Mediterranean grilled salad had brocolli and other exotic veggies in pesto sauce. The veggies were fresh and the salad tasted awesome! Next was the aloo chutneywale which came with my favorite mint chutney. The baby potatoes were oven-cooked and marinated in mint flavor. The potatoes were baked to perfection and the mint chutney tasted delicious with the dish. We simply devoured the dish in a jiffy :D. The lasagna was next in line and it was awesome!! Crunchy on top and gooey inside, cooked to perfection and served hot. They had not made the desi version where it taste's spicy. It was the authentic version which is a little bland and we loved it! To finish off in style we ordered their famous signature dish - Paan ice-cream. How can I go to HS and not order this delicacy whom everyone has praised so much. The paan ice-cream was OUT OF THE WORLD! Pity, they gave only 2 scoops. The bill was slightly higher than I expected but it sounds reasonable for good food. So my verdict is, the place was worth the wait and hype. And yeah we will be visiting them often! VFM - 4.5/5 Food - 5/5 Service - 5/5 Ambiance - 5/5

Its all about the taste

Nestled in an inconspicuous building with a minmalist sign bord in Haven Sampoorna. As you are speeding past velachery Road, you can easily miss out this restaurant because of the above reasons. However when you do manage to find it and decide to go in you will not be disappointed. A moderately sized , neatly kept restaurant. The menu is purely veg and truly multicuisine. Ranging from bisibela baath to spaghetti agli olio there are a myraid choices to pick from. We opted for an oriental starter and one from the tandoori platter namely the sultan shekh kabab. Both the starters were cooked to perfection with the required spice and flavour. For the main course i went in for the Haven thali which is adequate for a hearty lunch meal. My friends ordered kulchas, naan and subzi and all dishes turned out to be good. just simple homely food with no pretense fringes.
A nice place to go for lunch or dinner if it involves a group of eclectic people with varying taste buds :)

Heaven at Haven

Well I was surprised to see this tiny joint expanded into a 60 seater fine dining. Lots of new dishes added to their menu. Must try Rasagullaki subzi and Kofta plus a few tandoori starters which were awesome. Also their pasta mama rosa was brilliant. very nice interiors and vouch for the food which was excellent. Only suggestion is that the serving time can be more quicker. This is my second favorite restaurant in Chennai.

Wonderful Food with Great Veg Variety

Me and my family are a gregular here as we live in Velachery. Initially we were taken aback when we saw the small place but when the food had arrived we then decided this is the place where we want to come for years. We visit atleast once a month or two so that we don;t loose out on our continental appetite. I also heard that they are expanding which is very good for all of us at Velachery. The best place in town for the Veggie with many a variety. The one I like the most is you get South Indian/North India and Continental what a place.

Need more quantity for the price they charged

Me and husband visited y'day for dinner..They are offering Good and healthy food . Not that much costly, but quantity is very low. I like very much. We tried Starters, Thali, Chola Battura and Paan ice cream. Thali is very nice. Starters need some more quantity while compare with their price. Anyway feels good, will recommend friends, at-least for their PAAN ICE CREAM (first time i am tasting this type ice cream).Awsome..

not so good

I read about it long back in Femina, since then I wanted to try it. And though it is very near to our home, I got to check it yesterday only. This is a small cafe with multicuisine..literally..Almost everything was listed in the menu. We tried garden sandwiches, hara bhara kabab and knock out. Garden sandwiches were ok, should have been grilled a little more. hara bhara kabab was very good and so was the chatney .green one. Knock out was perfect..and in good quantity too, it was two icecreams with nuts and fruits..tinned fruits were good, though they should have added some more nuts...but it was yummy. Seating arrangement is ok,what I didnt like was that there were mosquitoes, I am totally allergic to them. Secondly the person who was taking orders was very shabbily dressed and a sloppy one, in this area smart boys or girls are more tuned. They dont provide cutlery .neither with kabab nor sandwiches..it is uncomfortable to eat like that..And since it is a small place, its very awkward to see the server standing nearby or looking at you. Prices are on the upside for some items, wheres moderate for others.

Very Good Thali

Been here twice.. though the quantity is limited it was filling and best of all tasted good. Place is very cramped but ambiance was good. Could see posters about they growing.. but did not have much details. Feel cost is bit high for such an experience.

Me along with my two friends looked out for an eat out on the velachery bye pass road and ended up at this restaurants based on my friend's recommendation. We went in for chat items and blue ocean & pina cola drinks. The Ambiance was good, but the place is small looks to crowded on weekends. Service & Moderate is good!!!
