Must visit for Italian Food lovers

The bruschetta was awesome with the perfect Baguette .We loved the thin crust pizzas . It had the right amount of cheese and seasoning. Most places end up making it to cheesy but not here.

The ambience is nice with both indoor and outdoor?(smoking area) seating options.
The wine menu consists predominantly Indian wines - the Grover and one or two from the Sula vineyards. There are International wines but they could increase the list there.
Overall good food, good fun. Will definitely visit again.

hospitality sucks

Me and my fiance walked in on one day and we didn't know what the restaurant offers. so they gave us a beautiful entry when we entered the restaurant. when we realised it's not the type of food they didn't bother doing anything or talking just cause they knew we were not going to spend. even if I have to have Italian food ever

Decent !!!

It was one of my cousins' birthday and we decided to surprise her by taking her to Chianti. The 1st thing that the name brought to my mind was Hannibal Lecter's famous dialogue from the movie, The Silence of the Lambs -- "A census taker once tried to test me. I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice Chianti". Whether your imagination runs wild or not, fear not, what we ate was nothing as gruesome as that :P !!

Chianti is a place with a cosy ambiance and pleasant decor. We are greeted by a bar counter of sorts and very courteous staff as we enter and are soon ushered to a table for 5. The glasses are filled with water, the menu soon arrives and we get busy perusing it. They also provide 2 complimentary bread baskets- One, a D-I-Y garlic bread option { with toasted bread, garlic, miniature tomatoes, basil leaves, olive oil and an instruction chart } and the other containing real soft, melt-in-your-mouth type bread & a bun with some nice "spiced" butter. I must add that my attempt at making the garlic bread was a catastrophe !

For starters (pun intended :D), we ordered -the Funghi Al Forno and the Chicken Crostini. The former came, prettily decorated, with around 8-9 UFO-shaped mushrooms, tiny drops of sauce & other garnishing and a nice salad that contained tasty sun-dried tomatoes. The mushrooms were soft and hot (temperature-wise) inside, easy on the palate. The latter, looked like the garlic bread with toppings that one comes across at Pizza Hut. Ironically, taste-wise, I now personally rate the PH option higher though it is veg. But let me add that this could also be due to my lack of familiarity with Italian cuisine, which till date has been restricted to Pizzas & Lasagnes. There were some mocktails added to the mix though and there isn't anything to write about them. They're mocktails !!!

We then navigated towards the Main course and out came - Chicken Canelloni, Chicken Lasagne (no prize for guessing who ordered it :P), Pollo Alla Parmigiana for the carnivores and Pizza Rustica & Ravioli DI Spinaci E Ricotta with Four-Cheese Sauce for the others. I would say that there was no real stand-out dish among these and we felt that the Pizza Rustica came close to taking the cake (if that's possible :P !!). The tastes of Canelloni and Lasagne could not really be differentiated except maybe for the fact that the Canelloni had extra cheese. Maybe a person with a discerning tongue for Italian cuisine might have a better opinion. The Pollo Alla Parmigiana too wasn't anything spectacular.

Since it was a birthday dinner, we did not order any individual desserts and instead, had pre-ordered a half-kg cake from the restaurant. They had just 3 options - Chocolate, Vanilla and Strawberry and we opted for the Chocolate Cake. The cake was quite nice, though not exceptional and being just half-kg, the 5 of us managed to polish it off, including the usual tradition of "polishing" the b'day girl's face with some cake :P !

Ultimately, this turned in to a situation of classical dilemma. Was it a good or bad experience ? I'd maybe still reserve my judgement, considering the largely rave reviews by others. Maybe it was their off day or our choices of dishes could've been better. Another visit might resolve this dilemma.

So like they say in Italy - Buon Appetito and Arrivederci :) !!!

Small Italian Gem!

Always up for new dining experiences near our hotel - I walked over last night to try Chianti after seeing our driver go past it earlier in the day on the way to the office - a very pleasant experience awaited me - from the make-your-own bruschetta /with instructions with humor; to the stuffed chicken breast along with nice candle-lit tables and enjoyable music - and on top of that -servers and waiters that were pleasant, warm, smiling, and who knew their menu - I will come back and I will recommend this to my co-workers! Thank you!

Fantastic meal

great food, good sangrias, good ambiance, good service, just the right size of portions. we ordered bruschettas, crostini, pork, lamb, tenderloin, pasta.. everything was amazing, pasta was ok. the chocolate platter was to die for! they made a mistake with the bill (actually 3 mistakes) but they were jumped in and corrected it almost before we figured it out.

Buon Cibo -- Good Food.. Absolutely Italian..!!

Been there for dinner last weekend. The restaurant was packed which is a good sign of the things to come i.e. food..!!, & the ambience.. good..!! The bruschetta activity keeps you busy while your order arrives. The waiters were very courteous and explained almost every single ingredient of the order before the order was actually placed & since they had prior experience at an italian restaurant they were truly hands on.. Priced upmarket but worth every penny, would surely recommend this place for a good Italian meal.

must try

The bruschetta eating activity as a plate cleanser gets you involved in the meal right from the start. The bread basket is to die for with pesto flavoured butter, FTV thin cheese soup sticks n warm bread. The down side - hogging on the warm bread will fill you up too early to enjoy the rest of the meals. They position themselves as a wine bar , so there is no other type of alcohol available. Mocktails are passable. The real deal is with the salads n the main course. The taste, freshness n plating seem as if they are right of the Aussie Masterchef kitchen. The mebu n food definitely feel more authentic Italian. Definitely worth a visit. My recommendation is the Chicken parmigiana.

Great Tasting food

Burrp was instrumental in getting me here on a saturday night and in all fairness the reviews did not disappoint. The menu is entirely italian with somewhat spartan choices in non-veg in the anti pasti section. The wine sangria was nice and refreshing, though we have had better ones in past.We ordered for a barbecue pizza which turned out to be very nice. The only grouse was the fact that the pizza was little soggy in the centre.Next came the dish which was undoubtedly the star of the evening, pan grilled basa with vegetables. The basa came grilled, with garden vegetables and a light shrimp sauce. The taste was really good with the lemony tang going in perfect unison with the slightly pungent smell of the shrimp sauce.
We rounded off the mean with the days special desert, pannacota with carrot cake. The desert was again a winner and we returned quite satisfied with our new find.
final verdict : must go

Delicious food!

I stepped into Chianti with trepidation, as I thought it would be just another wannabe Italian joint. But I was pleasantly surprised!
The steward who served us was courteous and attentive, without being overbearing. Their breadbasket had some of the softest, tastiest breads and light, crumbly breadsticks.
We ordered a barbecue pizza and a chicken in a lemon and olive sauce. Both were flavorsome. The pizza had a light, thin crust, which was just perfect. The chicken was very well done too, with a delicious sauce.
The steward had very helpfully also suggested some good wines to go with the food.
We had panacotta for dessert, which was not too bad.
All in all, a pretty good experience. And it is not over-priced either.

Authentic Italian

Excellent food, great service, though you get the feeling at times that the waiters are trying a bit too hard. But the Penne was great.. seasoned just perfectly and it was a relief not to get tomato puree on it. The Basa in Lemon and white wine sauce was also awesome!

Dine in style the mob way

New Italian addition in town . Love their ambience . Reminded me of those Italian mobs having their meal. Long table set up is pretty nice with a chandelier dropping down. They do have open are so it was pretty nice to smoke while eating. My experience here was very nice. Totally happy with the place. Going back again
